He was no politician. He was a media artist. He used politics and theatrics and created this thing that governed and controlled the show for 12 years. The world will never see his like again. He staged a country […] People aren’t very bright, you know? They say they want freedom, but when they get the chance, they pass up Nietzsche and choose Hitler because he would march into a room to speak and music and lights would come on at strategic moments. It was rather like a rock ‘n roll concert. The kids would get very excited – girls got hot and sweaty and guys wished it was them up there. That, for me, is the rock ‘n roll experience.​

Being fascinated with nazism does not necessarily mean supporting it. He certainly hasn't done anything beyond that incident to suspect that and I believe he blamed his antics at that time on the rockstar life (sex, drugs, ...)
We've all done/said some stupid things when we were younger.
I find the Third Reich and Hitler's career quite fascinating as well, does that make me a nazi? Hell no.

Admittedly it's been awhile since I listened to Bowie.  Decided to run back through some of his albums.  Maaaaaaan, I forgot just how many well known songs this guy made.  Ridiculous.  

He has obvious hits and then he has those tracks that you know you've heard somewhere, but just can't place it.  This dude's musical reach is loooong.

That wiki article also said her 11 year old sister had a relationship with iggy pop. Damn. Didn't know those rockstars were having sex with kids in grade school.
