Phrenology is far from their worst album.

I understand what they were going for, but that album made me ashamed and embarrassed to be a Roots fan. Easily their worst.

Organix is easily their worst album, and understandably so. But it doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the others.

I think the Roots might be the single hardest hip hop group to rank period. Just about everyone has a completely different list, unlike with other artistswhere there's a consensus about worst/best album. That's why I think this thread will be interesting. You'll never see a Nas thread with Illmaticat the bottom and Nastradamus on top, but with the Roots, I've seen/heard just about ever way to arrange 8 different things possible.

Tells you a lot about a group's discography when there truly isn't a consensus order of rank in terms of album quality. Though personally, no one willever convince me that Things Fall Apart is not their best album.

Game Theory is their best and most complete album in my opinion. Illadelph Halflife and Things Fall Apart are right up there but Game Theory is amazingboth musically and lyricaly.

It really is best to least best though. If they did a best of album it'd have to be a double disc. On a side note can't wait for Thought's solojoints.
