Although not the best movie, I liked Fever Pitch because how the end was alter due to the red sox winning the world series.

Don't know about movies, but a lot of the actors out of Boston are pretty good at fitting the tough gritty role. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Mark Wahlberg etc.
