Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

This ***** EST Gee went to our alma mater.
& this ***** was cold.

I thought this was been known . Been seeing this pop up on my TL the past few days. Feel like everybody finding out more and more about EST GEE.

I used to play dynasty mode and pick SFA or Middle Tennessee State in the old college football games…and turn them into basically Nick Saban Alabama teams by recruiting mad blue chips after scheduling and beating the power 5 schools for some years

Good times.

Son I had no idea he was at SFA balling like that.
That's wild. I was roommates with hoopers, but ****** hung with the football players too.
I use to do the same **** though. Can't wait til 2023. :pimp: :pimp:

Harlow aiming for that Drake lane….he slid tho. Ray got his **** in control now. He got motion.

It’s dope to see these *****s like Ray, Vezzo etc finally get their shot, and the industry come around to them…while they stayed true to what they do.

How long before labels put an end to this Taylor Swift Rerecord method?? Because with recording being as simple as it is now i can see a lot of artist going this route

Cam posted about it on IG yesterday & i wept. Killa one of my top 3 rappers ever but his flow & ESPECIALLY engineering the past few years has been shaky, him rerecording those songs isn't gonna be a good site.

Artists have been re-recording their own material for decades to get more favorable royalties for use in other media.

Boosie making all his kids have Boosie fades is hilarious

This is what I go through when I cut my cousins son hair. Lil mfer be crying. Told her I’m gone give his azero.

His hair be so nappy I literally have to wet it to comb it, then blow dry it, dry. Ain’t nobody got time for all that. Told him to comb daily, he refuses.

Boys do not need hair if they ain’t gone comb it. Or just get dreads

Late Registration > MBDTF

@ me, let’s talk about it
Man, its an album I keep on revisiting. I really don't listen to MBDTF outside of the intro and a few other highlights (all of the lights, Runaway are among his best songs imo)

But Late Registration is powerful man, not my favorite album (TLOP) but his best imo

Touch the sky- First off, that beat  , then you get into that first verse about his insecurity before fame (when he's at his best), setting the stage about his claim to fame the hunger is tangible. "I felt like Bad boy street team, I couldn't work the Lox", then of course you have Lupe skating on that last verse.

Gold Digger- Not my fave song, but that **** hits

Drive Slow- My favorite Kanye Song period, admittedly bias, but that beat combined with his and Paul Walls verse about letting fame/riches get the better of you and leading down the wrong path resonate to this day imo especially after all the rappers we have lost since

Sierra Leone Remix - Man people always vouch for Jay on this track and rightfully so, but Kanye skates on this. "I forget better **** than you ever thought of"

Hey Mama- Mothers day anthem, I like what Jon Brion did with this, made it polished and Kanyes mumble singing is A1

Gone- Cam + Kanye on top of their game

Late- My favorite outro of any Kanye Album, I'll be late for that. I went to junior high with all of them and they been slow

HIs BEST album, not my favorite but his best
