LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL yea but the thing that sucks is that the Warranty becomes void...then what? I'm down with it being a challengecuz people are going to find out ways to work through that. Nothing is ever FOR SURE!!!

LOL I love challenges as the next man. I understand having to install anti foulers and o2 ******ation devices to bypass a cat. But having to design abypass for a sensor for aftermarket wheels? It's not even a TPMS (tire pressure mounting sensor) that goes under the wheels, but for the actual wheel? That's just too much.

And read the part where they said they had issues with the exhaust? That means that aside from tuning the ECU, they have to crack it. Either that or take theeasy route out with with a piggyback instead of a flash.

reading the article made my decsion a whole lot easier, i can only imagine how restrictive the California edition GTRs will be..

It's not about warranty per se. It's about the principle IMO. It's known that you gotta pay to play. So when you mod a car, and somethinggoes wrong due to that part, don't expect the dealership to cover it. I mean if you drop in a big turbo and wasn't properly tuned, and you blow out arod...I don't think the dealership would or should pay for it.

But what if you just want to do baby stuff to the car..ie coilover, catback, and wheels? Those 3 items won't even cause any serious problems and youcan't even do it straight up.

See, i dont think many people understand the genuisness that is Nissan by making the car untuneable..

Simple as this, people will want to put aftermarket parts on it, and guess what happens when error codes go off, YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT TO NISSAN...nissan winshere, because they can charge whatever they want for service, and not only that, this basically assures 100% quality control because people can't foolaround and damage the car, then turn around and claim warranty..smart move Nissan.. I know my friend modded the hell out of his Subaru, blew a piston thenasked Subaru to give him a new engine under warranty..

This also opens the doors for Nissan/Nismo aftermarket parts that can only be sold/installed by dealarships..Like i said earlier, its a great move onNissan's part because people can't really do much, and if they do, Nissan has to repair it...

as for me, I am buying a R-34...GTR is too much hassle..

wish i could get an r-34

I know those type of people too and I simply can not stand them. You mess up the car due to what you did to it and expect someone else to pay forit. It makes it that much harder for other modified cars with legit non related issues trying to get warrantied.

As stated, I'm sure tuners across the nation will have solutions sooner or later. It's something similar to what BMW did by encoding the ECU so theonly one who has full access is Dinan. But less than 10% of the owners have anything Dinan related to the rape prices...even for BMW.

Mitsu is so laid back with this stuff (about as laid back as a car company can). 3 of my friends got their t-cases replaced due to their own fault andadmitting it. One of them burned the clutch out at 5k and instead of using an OEM replacement, he had an ACT clutch put in. I still remember the guy saying"just leave the clutch here, if you leave it next to the OEM clutch, I may install the 'wrong' one" and gave a wink.

There's an Evo X on some aggressive Te37s on socalevo..I must admit it looks very lovely. And the car is a lot more potent than the IX, which is justtoo insane.

platinum motorsports already did 2 of them with 22"s on both of them. looks crazy, but at the end of the day, the car is just not for someone looking toreplace an actual porsche turbo

If you need one, hit up South Coast Mitsu, they're slanging the X's to all the folks for good prices.
You gotta take evolutionm for whatit's worth, lol. You have a lot of good folks and a lot of ******s on the site. That's why I prefer the smaller sites, ie socalevo, norcalevo, evony, etc.

I think if you can afford a 997 Turbo, you wouldn't even consider the GTR. But for the folks who don't want to break 6 figure (according to MSRPanyways, not the new marked up price), it's a great alternative. There's nothing like driving a car with the engine in the rear though. The sound andfeel is that much better I think.

Damn, I don't know about 90% of the stuff people are talking about in here, but I know this car is hyped.

Not like I could afford it anyway, but it is nice to see what's happening to it.
