Retail Workers: I hate closing!!!

Yeah it sucked, only during holiday and if I had something I wanted to do that night lol. But in hindsight, it wasn't that bad.

I absolutely HATE closing. I know it's part of the job and basically a requirement when working retail...

but my question is...how do I NOT close anymore. I can open. Wake up early. Work my shift. That's easy. It's closing that gets me.

Anyone out there in the same boat as me?

- never had a problem closing when i was younger and had these types of jobs. and never understood peoples frustrations with closing. i always welcomed the extra hours.....
stop lying you know you hated those closing shifts when holiday season would come around

- i honestly didnt. i didnt have much growing up and i didnt do too much anyway so it never bothered me plus i wanted the extra hours. even as i got older iwould request to work weekends when most of my peers wanted them off. i just dont do what most folks my age do....never did. closing was always cool withme....

I know exactly what you're going through, I worked at TSA for one summer and I was stuck with the closing shifts at least 3 times a week. It was eitherthat, or be part time and make no money so I just sucked it up. Nothing worse than being there all night and when you finally get out of there you have to haula** to catch the late bus about to turn the corner

yo nothing is worse than closing at a restaurant on like a saturday night. i know this retail stuff is hard but restaurants take the cake. so glad im done withthose joints.

Son I feel you. If I can help it, I will never work retail again. I work in the mornings now. Its such a great feeling to see people coming in while you arewaltzing out

At my current job (Sears) closing is actually pretty easy... we close at 9 and Im usually out at 9:05..

At my old jobs though ..closing FTL

i close for a restaurant on Saturdays...i hate it
but at least im out my house

Um, try working at a retail store in Times Square (hectic already), closing at midnight, and not leaving until 2:30am on weekends

Yes, I want to kill myself everytime I get the night shift

eh when i needed money i would pick up whatever hours i could get i would go cover at other stores to pick up hours as well but i despised closing unless i wasthe person in charge.

working retail ftl so many retail managers and employees are brainwashed by all the dumb stuff the company tells them, and bug out about the most stupid stuff.

my old manager was cool but he was such a company puppet.

i'm actually gonna be working at best buy soon. i'm assuming you work somewhere in the bay area based on the fact you rep the warriors. you work at thesan francisco store?

I hated how Home Depot would factor in the close in my schedule. They would have me working two hours after closing. I couldn't just leave when I wasfinish like some of you guys. I'm happy those days are over.

The worst is getting out an hour later than closing time THEN waking up extra early to open.

Working at Payless FTL

Closing wasn't to bad when I worked retail. The biggest thing is where you work and who you work with.

Closing is the shift that I would always get out of....closing
At mcdonalds was terrrrrible especially since it was in a mall
We would get camps coming in at all hours of the day....not to
mention there was a movie theater inside the mall....people act
Like my Mcdonalds was the only place to eat in the entire food court

Closing only sucked when you had a tidy manager. Having to vacuum and mop the floor,

. Only thing that mattered IMO if the shoes were lined up and the apparel was ok.

I love it personally...getting to sleep in 80% of the week FTW.

It only sucks when you got to open the next morning.
