Its basically a collection of various comments of people around the nation during the campaign.
All I can say is wow. The fact that people still think like this in 2008 is just ridiculous, but can't say that I'm shocked

I LOL'd hard at the 'socilist' guy.

"What does 'socialism' mean?"
"er... Marxism... Communism ... viewpoints of Hitler ... err errr let me check my Blackberry"

Bro i believe it was 30 minutes into the segment and some kid had on a shirt stating ''say no to socilism''? What a moron he couldnt even spellit, and if anyone tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, that soon went out of the window when he was asked what is socialism and he had not the slightestclue ..... but one can argue thatt if you extrapolate all these comments, your bound to get some idiotic responses. But it is scary to see some people stillhave these views.

lol that socilist guy was too funny, what a brat....

Anyway I just saw the documentary and I enjoyed it.... damn that girl is smoking.... the one shown in the beginning and end... shes real beauty. But back ontopic.

so yeah, this is basically what we've been watching near the end of the race and I said (when barack won) "damn, people must be real sad rightnow"

But damn, this video just gave inspiration and belief that Obama is right guy for the job. I don't want a patriotic son of a gun, I want a guy who can makechanges.
This documentary just solidifies Obama's speech after he won the race. Terrific.

I might be the only one but it kind of pissed me off. I knew people were bitter and racist but some of the outlandish statements people were making withabsolutely no evidence to back it up were sad. I did however appreciate some people's honesty on where the stood though (racists). At least they were beinghonest and straight up though. Most of that was in the southern portion of the documentary.

I laughed at the dude crying at Nascar. His quote was "we used to be top dog, now we are not anything anymore." If he was talking about white peopleI'm white and I never felt like I was top dog and never felt like I was nothing. Just felt I was as important as everyone else. White people who believethey deserve to control everything need to grow up.

But his crying was hilarious.

Also seeing people who had no clue like the "socilist" dude was sweet revenge.

Just show what ultimately is wrong with the conservative wing of the political spectrum they call themselves real americans, and anyone who deviates from theirviews are not real Americans and hate America. And if you want to split hairs it is their actions that are undemocratic and un- American principle

This was a pretty good doc. I was laughing when they went to Oxford, Mississippi. That's truly a shame that we have people whom still think like that.

really good documentary.. like some of you said is really sad that this point in time some people can be so close minded as they are, but i guess is all due tothe enviorment in which they were raised..i found it funny the way they were sticking up for Fox News as being the only true source of news.

Yeah, some things in the documentary did make me cringe and
smh.gif
, but I'm sure I'd do the same thing if they interviewed uber-left side liberals...

Clearly, that documentary had a slant:

- so.....let me get this straight. you think if "uber-left side liberals" (as you put it) were interviewed you'd get the same amount of impliedand blatant racial comments as we see here??

- you dont really believe that do you?

- let you get this straight: if John McCain's daughter were to make a film about "Left America", it would problaly be slanted and filled withquick sound bites from "uber-left side liberals". And when they shared their views on religion, gun control, abortion, and homosexuality - I wouldproblaly

at some of their comments as well.

- yes I really believe that.

THIS IS THE WAY I SAW IT.

This documentary is about a bunch of WHITE PEOPLE not wanting a BLACK PRESIDENT. MOST OF THEM WANTED TO CALL OBAMA the n word. You can tell. They stop themselfs. Ive watched this documentary and I hate it. I DONT LIKE RACIST PEOPLE. I saw one lady that said "IF OBAMA WON, IM MOVING OUT OF THE USA". Howstupid can people be.. REALLY!

Let's be honest: This documentary wasn't produced to make people think "Wow, the right wing isn't so bad after all."

They went for the stereotypes (white, religious, halfway ******ed, and slightly- to fully-racist) and that's exactly what they got.

- sounds like someone didnt take the time to actually view the doc. there were hardly the quick sound bites, but more of just letting the mic go and the peopletalk. whatever grave they dug was on them. people like you are just too blind to see it. matter of fact she went back to a few people for them to clarify, andall they did was talk themselves into a deeper hole.

- people like you kill me.

I live in Texas and yes, the South is just a little bit behind as far as mindset. You can't blame them though, no exchange of ideas nor do they have anyoneto challenge their dysfunctional beliefs.

If it matters I immigrated to Texas at the age of 7 and I travel frequently around the U.S and back to my homeland.

- ...funny... thru my ears someone sounds very foolish because I'm actually snowed in here in DC, just got finished watchin' the documentary On Demand, and saw this thread about an hour after viewing. Also, my vision is 20/20 so I could see the hole those people dug for themselves quite easily. But obviouslywhat you couldn't see from my intial reply is that as a whole, I took this documentary with a grain of salt because it was made by Nancy Pelosi'sdaughter. If you don't know who Nancy Pelosi is, what she does for a living, or her party affiliation, then you couldn't possibly understand why I saidthis film was slanted. To get up in arms over this documentary and think that those people who said
smh.gif
things represent all of Right America is damnedfoolish.

- people like me don't kill you, we just outsmart you.

the best thing about this documentary is that those people in it will never get to see it. I doubt they get cable to their backwoods cabin.

your absolutely right. actually at one point she interviewed a man at a gas station and he very bluntly said that he didnt want no N in office. iwas just shocked.
the part with people talkin about movin out the country pissed me off too. like the one kid sayin he will move to canada. i wonder what those people are doinnow that obama did win.
but the one bit that ticked me off the most was the couple comparing obama to hitler sayin that just like hitler obama has the youth all rallied up andsupporting him and that obama is very well spoken and educated just like hitler. i guess these idiots are so used to bush stupidity that now someone who mightactually help this country is considered evil.. shame
