NFL great, broadcast icon John Madden dies at 85

Hall of Fame coach-turned-broadcaster John Madden, whose exuberant calls combined with simple explanations provided a weekly soundtrack to NFL games for three decades, died Tuesday morning. He was 85.

Imagine being an iconic Hall of Fame NFL coach (who had the misfortune of playing the '70s Steelers over and over, yet still won a Super Bowl), the most iconic color analyst in NFL history (and possibly in all of sports history), AND slapping your name on a sports video game franchise that changed the gaming world. Just an unbelievable life.
