Roosevelt and Garfield got the jazz game on lock

They placed first and second at the Essentially Ellington jazz festival in NYC. They also went 1-2 in 2002. Roosevelt repeats after winning last year.They've combined to win five of the last ten competitions (since the competition went nationwide). The Seattle jazz scene is nuts.

Shorewood was holdin it down too...not sure about this year tho...

The Washington Middle School x Garfield High School combo is top notch.
Too bad Mr. Knatt is retiring from WMS he will be missed, but I'm sure Mr. Acox will keep holding things down at GHS.

yea seattle area bands were killin in general - 5 out of 15 total bands, and 3 in the top 4. Its tight that the festival is branching out into Benny Carter aswell as the Duke

I'm a product of both schools (1993-1996, 1996-2000). Probably why my fav color is purple after all these years!
