Scanning barcodes on shoes

Just wanted to see how reliable it is to scan the barcodes on tags inside of the shoe and the boxes of Jordan's to find out if they are legit/fake. I know that fake/replicas are becoming harder to detect by those who haven't done their homework but what about the tags? Will these also scan? I know for the pairs which I ordered from finish line and Nike.com or other reputable sites that's not an issue but what about the pairs ordered from second hand sites like eBay?

If its the same upc barcode then it will scan. Doesn't matter what it's printed on. Don't rely on that to tell you if the shoe is real.

Agreed. Barcodes and receipts really mean nothing anymore.
