School me on Air Conditioning units

I'm looking to cop a air conditioning unit to put in my window and I have no idea what I'm looking for.

- My room is normal size, so nothing too big, nor small
- I'm looking for somethin in the 200-300 price range, but price is negotiable
- Not too noisy
- Minimal condensation dropping from it

That's all I can think of so far, so I guess with any information you guys give me I'll think of more

Got this baby in my room. Flawless for a year and a half. Room gets cold in about 5 minutes.

It is a lil noisy thought but I think all of these tyoes of AC's do that.

My AC unit is about 18 years old. Works better than most I've seen at my friends house. It literally takes no more than 3 minutes for the room to get cool.I have the biggest room in the house. The climate control goes only to 8 and I only have it up to 3. I never pass 4 though. I'm scared that ice might shootout.

Anyhow, I think you should look at the BTUs.

Damn I wanna get one of those but my windows slide left to right and not up and down.

Anyone own a portable air conditioning unit?
