Mavericks owner Mark Cuban plans to file a protest with the NBA after his team's overtime loss to the Rockets on Friday night.

"We will definitely protest," Cuban said, "because we felt there were multiple misapplications of the rules."

The Mavericks contend referees didn't have the license to review a flagrant foul on Houston's Aaron Brooks in overtime that led to a technical foul on Mavericks' Erick Dampier.

It marked Dampier's second technical, so he was ejected with 1:01 left in overtime.

Dallas has 48 hours to formally file the protest, which costs $10,000. Cuban said that the Mavs will formally send in the protest paperwork Sunday.

i dont know about yall but i would LOVE to have Cuban as my teams owner (clippers). This dude may be too involved to some of you but the dude obviously will beright there on the front line to fight for you and your squad.

Oh not to mention he has hooked up Dallas from the get go with basically everything they need.

From Wikipedia - In the 20 years before Cuban bought the team, the Mavs had a winning percentage of 40%, and playoff record of 21-32. In the six yearsfollowing, the team won 69% of their regular season games and reached the playoffs in each of those seasons. The Mavs playoff record with Cuban is 39 wins and40 losses, including their first trip to the NBA Finals in 2006, where they lost to the Miami Heat.
