(02-24) 11:33 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- An SUV that police believe was used in the killing of a woman and woundings of five other people in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood was found ablaze early today in Oakland, authorities said.

San Francisco police chased the Mercedes SUV across the Bay Bridge after the shooting late Monday, but officers lost sight of it before it got off thefreeway, apparently in downtown Oakland, authorities said.

The silver-colored SUV, which had temporary license plates, was found on fire at 34th Street and Telegraph Avenue in Oakland about 1:30 a.m. There was nosign of the two men who were in the car as it raced across the bridge at 110 mph.

The men were believed to be connected to the shootings at 10:20 p.m. at Turk and Taylor streets in San Francisco, in which a woman in her 30s waskilled.

Investigators said the woman had been arguing with another woman on the street shortly before the shots were fired. The victim's name has not beenreleased, and police did not provide a description of the men suspected of being involved in the shootings.

Lise Tulau, a San Francisco resident, said at the scene that the victim was her sister's wife. She described the woman as "nice, pretty, educatedand outgoing."

It was not known whether the five people who were wounded were targeted or were hit by stray bullets. All are expected to survive, police said, and two havealready been released from the hospital.
