that is to say, to allow their shoe lines to branch out on their own.

the current player sig lines, like melos, cp3's and now fly wades, all suffer from jumpman syndrome. they tend to arbitrarily stick the jumpman logo on top of what could be very promising designs. now, considering that Nike allowed the swoosh be removed from the side of the jordan 2 and the nike air from the back of the jordan vii, wouldn't it only be right for jb to allow one (or more) of its own players to remove the jumpman from their lines?

just like with the early jordans, everyone knew that they were nikes even without a swoosh. the same will be for the current lines, everyone will know they are jordan shoes, even without a jumpman.

i say, jb pay it forward.

Jordans have become such a status symbol

amongst the youth of today that I don't believe jordan sig lines would

sell well at all without the jumpan logo attached to it. Jordans sold

years ago due to the love the entire world had for jordan and his style

of play. Everyone wanted to "BE LIKE MIKE"..... the same doesn't apply today.

It didn't matter that I lived in NYC, I proudly rocked my BULLS jersey

Everywhere!! I don't believe the same can be said about any of todays

players. Most people just route for their home team and have love for

a select few players across the NBA.

it's a shame, cuz it's holding back on some classic kicks. chuck tinker on the job and drop the jumpman, the man will make something which in several years will be considered great.

that melo advance would have been really nice without a jumpman on it, imo.

ya, no
it was perfect timing with MJ
i can't help but compare MJ to Hulk Hogan in that regard
at the time, they were larger than life & on a different level
of popularity than anyone else

stuff like that is very rare
