If ANYONE is brave enough to fight for this country, that right should not be denied.

This boils down to paying for estrogen/testosterone medication, hormonal imbalances, and paying for reassignment surgeries ..

Only medical things i can think of

So true, because every Trans person's dream is to join the US military so they can get boatloads of estrogen and testosterone meds on the gov't dime as well as reassignment surgery. OK buddy, :smh:

Not a Trump fan, although I think that it is hilarious how mad he makes weirdo liberals. If someone wishes to wear dresses in their free time, that's all good, but the US military should not have to indulge in their delusional fantasies. Trans whatevers can join the military, they just have to not pretend to be something that they aren't, and they should use the same restrooms as others who share their chromosomes.

Because that's what matters when doing tours in across enemy lines. Gotcha |l

I have a lot of issues with the military and military spending, but I 100% agree with this. Why deny them that right, especially if they are competent at their roles?

Our military budget is like 800 billion. The medical costs associated with transgender people is 10 million. This ain't got **** to do with "costs". The military spends 50 mil on Viagra alone.

if trans ppl are banned for medical costs so should limp **** ******

Cutting off your genitals and pretending to be something that you aren't is insane, no matter how you try to spin it. I don't think that people with schizophrenia should be allowed in the military either. As a matter of fact, I think that genital mutilation should be illegal in a civilized country.

Civilized? What world are you living in bro? Take a trip around this country and ask yourself how civilized it truly is. Look at the conditions some people are forced to be in then ask about civility. You can barely tell the difference between the US and a third world country.

Transgenders are the least of the issues anyone should be worried about with regards to the military. Acting like there aren't people in the military male or female who don't come with their own mental issues. Not to mention those who come home with a **** load of more problems and issues. Talk to me about civilized, when VETS get treated like **** coming home after risking their lives for this **** stain of a country. All they get is a pat on the back and a thank you. No real help post combat. No real support. They should be treated the way we treat actors and athletes in this country. But it's obvious what is important to this country.

With that being said, if anyone is still willing to risk their lives for this country and volunteer to join the military why in the world would you stop them? It's one thing if they are unfit physically and/or mentally. But if they pass all physical requirements and psychological then what is the issue?

I agree with you here, and this whole issue is definitely a distraction from other more serious issues, but Trans people require continued steroids/hormone treatment to continue living with their delusions. This is problematic.

This seems narrow minded man. The brain is a pretty fascinating and complex organ, in a human living in an equally complex society. Who knows what is real and what is a "delusion" inside the mind of transgender person? Do you feel the same way about homosexual people? That their attraction to the opposite sex is insane/delusional?

Homosexuality is a sexual preference, not a delusion. You can't change your chromosomes, and you can't change your hormones or sexual organs without medical procedures and drugs. I will concede that GENDER is changeable and not rigid, SEX however, does not change.Aside from some very rare occurrences, there are only two sexes.I feel the same way that I feel about transgenders as I feel about Rachel Dolezal or people who believe that they are aliens, Jesus, wolves, vampires and ponies. They are free to do as they please, but I won't indulge their fantasies. People should be proud of who they are, and accept it, not pretend and expect everyone else to live in make believe land with them.

I dunno what I am more taken aback by.

You arguing that denying people equal opportunity based on them being transgender is reasonable because you don't want to indulge their delusion.

Or the fact you think ponies and wolves are not real.

They have equal opportunity. You want them to have extra rights, and for the military to accommodate their delusions and fantasies. If an individual who was born male wants to join the military, they can. They can join as a male and perform the duties that any other male in the military would be expected to perform. The same goes for females. Men and women should just be forced to perform all of the same duties and share all of the same facilities in the military. If an individual has a problem with sharing facilities, or can't perform his/her duties or perform at the same standards as everybody else, then they shouldn't be allowed to serve. This would solve all of these problems.

but I won't indulge their fantasies.

What fantasies? And why would you have to "indulge?" Seems like catering to people who are transgender is pretty harmless in the grand scheme of things. I mean, if they want to enlist, aren't they expected to pass the the same screening process?

See my post above. My only real issue is with the military footing the bill for hormones/surgery. It would definitely become an issue in a war zone, when this type of person needs constant hormones to continue with their make believe. They don't give soldiers steroids, so I don't know why trans people think that they should be given special treatment over everyone else.

I dunno why they denying people if they want to sign up / enlist. What are enlistment numbers looking like?

One of the best responses to bigotry i've ever read...

"First of all, in a sexual species, you can have females be XX and males be X (insects), you can have females be ZW and males be ZZ (birds), you can have females be females because they developed in a warm environment and males be males because they developed in a cool environment (reptiles), you can have females be females because they lost a penis sword fighting contest (some flatworms), you can have males be males because they were born female, but changed sexes because the only male in their group died (parrotfish and clownfish), you can have males look and act like females because they are trying to get close enough to actual females to mate with them (cuttlefish, bluegills, others), or you can be one of thousands of sexes (slime mold, some mushrooms.) Oh, did you mean humans? Oh ok then. You can be male because you were born female, but you have 5-alphareductase deficiency and so you grew a penis at age 12. You can be female because you have an X and a Y chromosome but you are insensitive to androgens, and so you have a female body. You can be female because you have an X and a Y chromosome but your Y is missing the SRY gene, and so you have a female body. You can be male because you have two X chromosomes, but one of your X's HAS an SRY gene, and so you have a male body. You can be male because you have two X chromosomes- but also a Y. You can be female because you have only one X chromosome at all. And you can be male because you have two X chromosomes, but your heart and brain are male. And vice - effing - versa. Don't use science to justify your bigotry. The world is way too weird for that ****." -Grace Ann

They don't have extra rights, the **** you talking about.

Transgender people are not covered by the he Civil Rights Act, Trump wants to kick them all out of the military. They have less rights

Having special treatment is spending money on hormone therapy?

So it is special treatment when the military pays for someone's dong pills, or antidepressants, or birth control? All of which probably cost the military way more too.

The only delusions I see is you thinking your bigotry sounds reasonable.

Yes those EXTREMELY RARE instances do occur in human beings. But let's not conflate them with someone who has
one Y chromosome and one X chromosome wanting to cut off their penis, take drugs for a lifetime, and change their lifestyle to fit into a societal gender mold, while expecting everyone else to live in the same fantasy and accommodate it.

If they are US citizens, then they certainly have the same Civil Rights as everyone else. I shouldn't have to hire a male wearing a dress any more than I should have to hire someone with 666 tattooed across their face.

I don't think that people who take antidepressants should be in the military period. Birth control? Yeah, I support that because a pregnant soldier might be a problem. I identify as a muscular bodybuilder. Should the military foot the bill for me to take steroids to achieve this goal? That is hormone therapy.

You do realize that mandatory psychology appointments as well as having doctors sign off is usually mandatory to insure someone isn't "living in a fantasy" right? If someone was willing to do just "cut off their penis, take drugs for a lifetime, and change their lifestyle to fit into a societal gender mold" as you so eloquently put it, without actually being transgender, there are deeper mental issues that will more than likely be vetted before a surgery takes place.
