Im a black guy, big...black...dreaded, future bumpin, blunt rollin, "yall aint got no Henn, doe"(Tbh, Ive recently been covereted to Jack) black guy. Ive always had white friends that would mention and make references to it, but never was like, "Hey, you wanna watch RHPS with us?" I think they knew it would be a bit much for me, at the time. I do know its somewhat of a big deal some people. Straight people, for that matter. I also hear Susan Saradon doesn't really like to be associated with it anymore. I dont know how true that is.

So yesterday, I get off work, smoke one, sit down to watch TV and see from the guide its about to come on HBO in about 3 minutes. I thought, you know what? **** it, Im high, I aint got **** to do. Im going to see what this is about. As stated before Ive been hearing about it for decades so I somewhat knew what to expect.

For those who dont know. Its about a couple that gets a flat in the woods on rainy night. Goes to castle for help and they walk in on a freak party hosted by a transexual mad scientist, that turns out to be an alien.

    Bruh...

That **** was pretty entertaining. I can totally see how its a cult classic. Wildly before its time. Its just so outrageous. I could only imagine how it was recieved in 1975. When Tim Curry first came out.

Is Tim Curry actually gay? The reason I ask is because you can tell he had a ball playing that role. Theres no doubt in my mind that smerk he had was 100% genuine. I always enjoy seeing that in movies.

    Other funny things:

-The extremely cheesy acting by the boyfriend
-The bedroom scenes. :wow: 0] That mind ****!
    - At the dinner table, the boyfriend is looking all distraught and at this point the gf doesnt give a **** anymore and is just enjoying the songs.
    - The random Meatloaf scene that I still dont get. Was he in the freezer? What was that? How did he get a motorcycle from? What? I dont even..
-When finish the first song, and Brads says "Hello" and they all get up like nothing happened.

On the cool. I know this is blasphemy for fans and people just hate remakes in general, but I could totally see this remade like an Eli Roth film. Especially, with all this newfound stance on sexuality in society. Just play up to the horror part a little more(I get the psychological horror of it, but that would be considered tame today). It be hard to top Tim Curry doe.

7/10 would watch again. My co worker told me about the audience lines. Ima check that out at watch it again. "Discribe his balls!"

And for the kiddos keeping score at home, my heterosexuality is still intact.

I remember watching Seven Samurai and Metropolis back in film class. Man that was tough, even though they are known to be one of the great movies of this world.

I have never seen Citizen Kane either.

Yeah. I try to watch movies from the Criterion collection that are on Hulu, but I just find it hard for some reason. I can watch old movies like musicals but besides that , I just get bored with stuff made before the early 70s even if they are great

however we rarely discusses about his role in the movie, or the movie in general.

Saw it when I was a little kid but didnt really pay much attention, saw it again last year at this midnight showing with like live actors doing some of the scenes in front of the movie screen. When we first walked in there was this man in tight whiteys with lipstick kissing "virgins" (people who hadn't seen the film) on their cheeks. I already knew what type of night this was going to be lol.

I can see how people like it, but its really not my cup of tea. If I never watch it again i'll be cool.

I think something like he didn't want to be typecasted and be the guy known for dr. Frank n furter rather than his other roles.

however - ever since his stroke a few years ago, he's been more open about discussing the movie.

this movie would always be on during Halloween time as a kid (and it still is), but I remember watching it way back when...

I didn't really understand it plus it did kind of disturb me. lol

I haven't watched it in its entirety since.

Loved this movie. So much of modern pop culture was influenced by RHPS. :pimp:

Fun Fact: the skeleton in the clock was real - it was the secretary for the Countess of Rosslyn.
