SoCal heads...I'm going on vaca in Dec. to LA...tips/advice?

I'm taking my girlfriend out to L.A. for a few days in Dec. All I really wanna do is hit up TH, FCLA, and do some surfing...I'm sure she'll want to do the whole shopping thing though.

Any tips to having an enjoyable first trip to L.A. would be appreciated. We're not really trying to hit the club scene or night light, just trying to chill. Also, give me the word on hotels and what not.

catch a game at the staples center, hit up in-n-out burger & tommy's, downtown long beach (proper, seams, east 4th, black market, etc)
