    Question for anyone...

My 9 year old son (will be 10 next month) will be playing indoor on turf (without walls) on Friday evenings & futsal on turf on Sundays. I know there is talk about turf being unforgiving on the knees & ankles when you make quick cuts & what not so my question is this...

Is it better for my son to wear "regular" indoor boots while playing on turf or actual turf boots? When I say turf boots, I'm not talking about artificial grass boots.

Children don't weigh enough or generate enough force for turf to put that kind of strain on their  joints and ligaments. It's more of a concern for fully grown individuals who've had  multiple knee operations like me.

I highly discourage wearing regular indoor boots (assuming you mean flats like for a true futsal court) on turf, the likelihood of injury due to slipping is more of a risk than wearing FG on turf.

FG, AG, TF either way he'll be fine. Stay away from SG and avoid IC if you can.

Not at all. Usually kits are released before a major tourney (World Cup/Euros/Copa America, etc) in the 6-8 months prior. Look for the first set of Nike WC2014 kits to be released before the Feb. friendlies.

I think I read that Nike is going to announce their new WC kits late Jan, the 21st I think. Included will be the new US kits.

Man, after a bad showing in the Confed Cup, Japan looked impressive against The Oranje, granted it was a friendly. That passing before Honda's goal was :smokin

i'm always puzzled by how players choose between going long sleeved with an actual LS jersey, or by wearing a LS baselayer under a short sleeve jersey.

for me, LS jersey all the way. i think it looks much cleaner.

That's funny Rip, I've always thought the same thing. I think it might boil down to the look...

I always thought it was a functionality thing. I personally like the tight base layer better then just a long sleeve jersey. Granted i guess i could do a tight short sleeve base layer under a long sleeve jersey but i like the feel of the base layer and its more comfortable then just a long sleeve jersey. It also wicks sweat better. I know a lot of Barca players complained about Nike Jerseys getting heavy and sticking to them when they would sweat. But then again im not playing in top tier uniforms so maybe they are great at wicking sweat but my polyester jersey now when it gets wet is heavy and does not keep my dry at all . I am assuming its not about warmth really because if that was the case you would do long sleeve base with long sleeve jersey.

Were these ever posted?  Just COMPLETELY threw off my plans to cop Hypervenoms. [IMG]

It's a pack set for 2014 honoring the Mercurial legacy. It would have been dope if Nike had just waited and featured the XV as a part of this pack instead of making them limited and giving us some random colorway as an ode to OG Mercurial.

The 02's will be copped in February I'm probably gonna have to get the 06's eventually too.

Didn't even notice the details on the kit. I like the majority of the minimal kits from Nike for next summer.

Has anyone bought from powerports.net? The prices seem a bit low; fake or genuine?

Thinking of getting the mercurial blackout from them

    Thanks

Copping the red kit for sure.  I have the yellow and blue from this year, (non WC kits).  All I need is that red one.  However I wish they would have went with yellow stripes on the shoulder, throwback to the late 80's.

    QFT.

The lack of yellow on the jersey get adidas a yellow card fam.

I, however, will still be copping...

Time to look for some adidas connects/discount codes...

I don't like the France WC kit. To be honest the current home they are using now is perfect IMO

And what's up with Nike no longer heat pressing the swoosh and team crest on authentics? I don't understand why they changed to stitching those details, something you see on replicas.

damn RIP to my wallet :smh:

France kit is pure class. Thank god they went back to the white shirts and red socks. They look like they should now. I hope Portugal gets the same type of treatment. Not looking forward to another all red kit from top to bottom.

It's like Adidas and Nike switched places in the all-color look, Adidas is all over it now, Nike has taken a step back (for good reason).
