i don't think anyone has a definitive answer, but i'll give my best guess (this applies to the entire nike elite line)....

demand for the elites was sufficient. i don't believe for a second that nike lost money on the line - there were a lot of tweets to both soccer.com and nikefootball asking if the elites would make a comeback. elites didn't show up in the outlets in any sort of heavy volume where you would think that the line was a flop. i'm realize that retailers didn't place huge orders for the elites because of the $350-400 retail price, but they would sell out pretty quickly. demand on ebay continues to be heavy, even for models that are beyond the 2-year voucher period.

the voucher system is one reason why i think the line was disco'd. i personally know multiple people who broke studs on purpose so that they could send the boots back to nike and get a $400 voucher. there was a lot of talk about how the carbon fiber soleplate was prone to breaking, but i think that's exaggerated because so many people were breaking them on purpose.

nike had to rely on a supplier (tepex) to supply the material for the soleplate, and it's possible that tepex actually constructed the soleplates. i would think that nike does pretty much everything in-house, so having to rely on an outside company for a unique product might have been less than ideal. if tepex decided to raise prices, nike isn't able to simply switch to another supplier.

in terms of the superfly, the 'sense stud' or whatever it was called (the stud under the big toe that extended when traction was needed) was a flop. cristiano is the face of the superfly, and he never used a soleplate with a sense stud.

again, those are just my best guesses as to why there's no more elite line. i really don't think poor sales were the main factor. i'm sure others have their theories, and i'd love to hear any insight!

oohh ok, I see. It was a dope line in my opinion, but yea I also thought the "sense stud" was stupid.

How legit is that third jersey. They almost always have yellow in it as its the unofficial third color.

Yeah, this was in South Gate. It's a spot called Goals Soccer Center. We usually go on Mondays, and rent one of the fields for 2 hours. Their small fields, so we play 6vs6 counting the goalie.

I guess for the $100 an hour that they charge us, they don't really care about what kind of boots we play in...

^when they became an adidas team? RBK getting out of soccer for good or something? (adidas must have had that on their mind when purchasing RBK to take over the RBK soccer teams)

Yeah, we play up to 2 goals, then the next 6 go in. End up paying like 11-12 bucks a head. Not that bad if u ask me, and we don't have to deal with certain idiots that always trying to start crap.

Guadalajara has been Adidas for about 2.5 years now

    Same one I want. :smokin

Picked up both of these Vapors at Marshalls today. One pair are the Superflys and the others are the ones that cost around $220

Both were $20. Will be on the hunt tomorrow for more. [IMG]  [IMG]

Superflys had no bag but had box

Regular Vapors had bag, no box [IMG]

I used to order my namesets from a website in Mexico called pambolero.com, but they went offline a while back. Don't know what happened. A friend of mine told me he called the store in Mexico City and ordered over the phone, I don't know if u want to do that or if u even speak Spanish lol

There's a store around me that gets the namesets for the more popular teams, why don't u hit them up and maybe they can ship it to you,

That store is called Nikky's sports, and I usually go to the one off Pico Blvd. (there's about 7 stores)

There's a few spots like that down here. The main one I go to is called Soccer Town located in the Midtown section of Miami. We usually go on Friday night because they have a weekend special of $80 an hour after 10 PM. We didn't go last night cause it's closed for Easter weekend though :rolleyes

I really want to go to one that's located on a parking lot rooftop in Brickell. It's called Soccer Rooftop, the rental is for the whole field and I believe they let you wear FG boots. :smokin

Chiva is right, it's not that bad when the money is split up between the whole group. You don't have to deal with idiots cause you play among the group that you went there with, plus the facilities are real nice. It's much better than playing on a ****** unkept field that is not meant for futbol. A lot of the parks that people play in don't have designated areas to play futbol in. It's just a big field of horrible dry grass with patches of dirt, debris, and is un-even with holes because it's not well maintained.

    what a come up :pimp:
But Mercurials have not been nice to my feet. My boy let me hold his Mercurial Victory II's and after playing I had cuts on both of my achilles heels and blisters on my big toe and ball of my foot :x
