I wasn't amped for this till i saw the preview during Avengers. I hate that they're rebooting so soon. Looks promising.
If a JL movie is to be made, I would rather not have the League's origin story be the plot. Doing so would be futile as it would look eerily similar in plot to the Avengers movie (Not sure about this, but isn't the whole alien invasion plot device a JL origin story rather than an Avengers one? I might be wrong here though.). I would like a JL movie to have the 'Tower of Babel" story arc instead. Now that would be a nice plot!

Alien invasion have never been part of the origin of the Avengers in the comics, they have dealt with alien invasions though and yes in the comics and different versions of animated shows and movies have had the origin of the JL be an alien invasion whether it's Brainiac setting it up or Darkseid. As far as just having a JL movie without most of their origins in it (again most writers don't want to do this cuz it'll be too damn long) and without solo movies for heroes that may not be as well received movie wise the marketing department won't rock with that cuz they'll be complaining that the casual/non-comic book fan won't get it plus they're not gonna pass up the chance to make solo movies even if they do suck. Only way I can seen them get around this a bit is if Flash and Wonder Woman make cameos in Superman movies (don't see it working in Batman movies unless they're begging him for help or he takes them all down). That's the whole problem and big difference between the two. A lot of Avengers, especially the OG ones could carry their own title and that can translate to them carrying their own solo movie because the whole motto for the Avengers was facing a foe not one hero could face alone. JL being a better team is true but they just banded together out of common sense and throughout the team has grown in members by a lot. Although the OG members could carry their own title in comics, they're (not counting Batman and Superman) not as popular as the several flagship Marvel characters and teams. Even Wonder Woman who is suppose to be apart of the DC trinity gets regulated as B-list compared to other members. Even for comic heads most couldn't name one story/arc that defined her as a hero/character (fanboys probably could though) especially with how they changed her story with the new 52. Not to mention her superhero "costume" DC has work ahead of them to make a JL movie work.
tobey was a bad choice imo. they shoulda casted topher grace aka eric forman for the role of peter parker and not for the role of eddie brock (brock lesnar, maybe?)
I'm a part of that group who thought Tobey was a good Peter Parker. He looked the part and was awkward enough to sell the geeky side of it. Given that, I think Andrew Garfield will do a great job at Peter. I'm sure he'll be able to pull off the comic book Peter Parker well, especially since this series looks like it'll be more faithful to it than Sam Raimi's.
don't think i'll see though the lizard was one of spidey's closest arch-enemies & the comic battles were cool
I don't like this Lizard's look even if he rocks the lab coat. Has to have that lizard like snout. He just looks like the goombas from Super Mario. EDIT Me and Plan on the same page
Director Marc Webb Talks About The Amazing Spider-Man's New Trailer http://www.superherohype....-spider-mans-new-trailer He hints at some of the film's mysteries and confirms a two-hour running time.
For those that don't know, Webb directed (500) Days of Summer, where he had to balance a good amount of humor, in what is essentially a depressing love story. Hopefully in TASM, he can juggle the darker elements of the Spider-Man/Peter Parker mythology, but also keep it light with the web slinger cracking jokes and having a good time rounding up criminals.
Not feeling this Spidey being based on the Ultimate U version. Not feeling the LA Gear lights every time he shoots his webs. And not feeling the fact that they continue to force Spiderman on us every 2 years or so. Enough. Let the franchise fall out of people's subconscious for at least 5 years.
Damn forgot all about Proto-Goblin. Seems the writers for Spidey the past 15 years have too I remember Demogoblin before I do Proto. Sony wants to keep the rights so they won't stop word to Puff.
My expectations for this are pretty low, though I think Garfield is a great actor and I love Emma Stone. At least the newest trailer makes it seem a little better then the last one.
I really wouldn't be surprised if there was a second villain. They showed Lizard way too much in the trailer so to me, I feel that there is another villain.
Nah, just about all of them run solo and they're all enemies of Spider-Man except for one guy who became a hero for a while until he quit and then went crazy and became a villain. Just a motif that got popular among criminals that went the super villain route. Norman Osbourne, the Green Goblin created (or later improved) the goblin formula (usually shows up in liquid or gas form) with a Oscorp scientist, Stromm, who he ended up killing. He took it, made him stronger, faster, way more intelligent (I think), gave him a delayed healing factor, and made him insane. Later on his son Harry takes the formula and takes up the mantle. Phil Urich later on takes up the mantle as a hero for a short time. There was also some clone or machine created to be GG to clear Osbourne's name. There's a dope story where Osbourne tried to force Peter Parker to become the new GG and there's other times he's forced to put on the costume. Proto Goblin was before any of the more popular Goblins. Worked at Oscorp for Stromm and used an early version of the formula on himself where he turned in to some super strong hideous beast. Like all early formulas usually do to somebody who doesn't wait for the finished version. I don't even remember what happened to dude Hobgoblin was like 3 or 5 ppl throughout the years. Main dudes being Kinglsley, Macendale and currently Phil Urich. None of them took the formula. Macendale took Kraven the Hunter's formula to get stronger though. They just had tech stolen from Osbourne and were trying to take over the crime world in NYC. Osbourne was gonna kill Kinglsey for stealing his stuff which made him leave the country. The others are Demogoblin and Grey Goblin. Demo was Macendale when he made a deal with some devil like demon or monster and got bonded with a demon that wanted to kill all sinners or something. They ended up splitting apart and I think Macendale killed the demon, it is dead though. Grey Goblin was Osborne's other son he had with Gwen Stacy who had the goblin formula in his blood which made him age quicker. That's all of them in the Spidey universe. http://www.comicvine.com/goblin-legacy/65-56882/
^damn, u know your stuff. i have never read a comic book in my life, i just read up on comic-based films before they come out. so proto is the strongest/deadliesg of them? he looks somewhat like omega red
Nah I would not say he is at all. Dude literally showed up to have some back story. Got in a fight and has disappeared since. Can't really gauge his strength but from looking him up the one power he has the rest don't is durable skin. I'd say anybody with the goblin formula in their blood are amongst the strongest so that's Norman, Harry, and Gabe.
