Our Goal: ONE MILLION TEXT MESSAGES - Between Mar 12th and Mar 19th

Coast Community College District students are coordinating an effortto reach 1-Million Text Messages to help support our message of "NoMore Cuts" to education. On March 22nd, a deligation of students willhand deliver a printout of the text messages to our legislators inSacramento during the "March in March".

Lee Fuller,President of the Student Advisory Council of Coastline CommunityCollege, Kris Cutting - President of the Associated Students of OrangeCoast College and Steven Sewell - President of the Associate StudentBody of Golden West College, along with Robert Lane - District StudentTrustee, are spearheading (and funding) this effort for all Californiastudents.

Our message is not limited to community colleges!ALL educators, staff, administrators and student supporters areencouraged to participate.

I know a lot of individuals here on NT are college students or are currently enrolled within some sort of educational institution, therefore it is pertinent that we ALL participate in this protest!

Yes, let your voice be heard! Especially all my people in the State colleges, you guys already know how bad budget cuts were this past year.
Fewer classes, increased tuition, way too many furloughs, etc.

We can stay quiet, or we can stand up and let our presence be felt!!! All you have to do is simply text "No More Cuts" to 69302, if you choose not to do so, that's fine but let's please keep this thread going and leave any negativity out.

Nope your number will not be added or used for anything other than being put in the list of over a million to be handed over to the CA government to prove that we as a Nation still believe and care about our educational system! We are hoping that this campaign will also continue to take place in other states, so for those asking, this could have a very important and relevant effect for more than just CA residents.

Make your voice heard! You guys put your email addresses on online shoe petitions all the time, education should hold the same priority...

i love how our generation texts to protest... we sure are showing our disappointment with the education system!

This it totally free, standard text messaging rates refers to whatever plan you currently have with your provider. There is no charge to text and you will not be spammed with other crap!

And yes, different generations will have different means of protesting and making their voices heard, so please participate and text in!
