Street Fighter IV is confusing

So honestly i've had street fighter 4 for a while now i havent been playin much and *#*! but when i do i have no idea how to do any of the special moves.Is there anyway anyone can simplify how the hell to do peoples special moves. Like i look em up in the pause menu but what confuses me is all the various waysthe arrows are pointing before pressing one of the kick or punch buttons

You should use the official SF4 post... but are you using a pad or a stick?

i had the same issue...all i can really tell u to do is mess around until you get it.

sorry thats horrible advice...but that's what worked for me.

the moves list is for when you're facin' the right. If the arrow starts from the bottom and goes a quarter circle right, then press down first andslide your thumb from down to right...if it requires two quarter circles, do it twice. If you're facin' the left, go from down to left....it's notthat hard fam. Did you play any of the Alpha series when you were younger? Did you ever play Street Fighter II at all when you were younger?

I mean i saw the huge thread but i figured they wouldnt address this question there. Im using the regular xbox controller. And yea i played when i was youngerbut i really dont remember how i did any of the moves i was way to young to remember. I understand how to the basic ones like hadoken and stuff like that but imean the advanced stuff with like a million different drag directions in front of them the different directions confuse me

If you dont have a fight pad like the ones at the arcade your doing it wrong is all I can say to that.

You need to stop fooling with a controller and get a fightstick.

If you dont have a fight pad like the ones at the arcade your doing it wrong is all I can say to that.

not really a prerequisite for being better than most of the people online
