R.I.P

Saw what you want about the Kennedy's being born with a silver spoon and into a lifestyle most can't fathom but the Kennedy's are iconic when itcome to social issues. Fought for civil rights, disability rights, health care, education and etc. Its like the old joke I heard from my uncle, black peopleonly like 2 presidents the one on the $100 bill and JFK

I was waitingfor someone to come in here and bring up the drowning incident at Chappaquiddick, yes it was terrible it happen and Ted probably could have handled it muchbetter but don't let it overshadow his achievements, I hate when ever someone of great stature passes the negative is always the first to be highlighted.

Edward sponsored/authored some of the most important legislation in the last 50 years in terms and his passing should light a match to all those liberals tofight this healthcare debate much harder.

You think?

It would've been hard for him to handle it any worse.

You make it sound as if people are wrong for doing so. The man killed someone and he and his family went above and beyond to cover it up. It doesnt have toovershadow his achievments but it certainly should not be swept under the rug. Great stature does not equal great person.

They don't deserve @%*! like this... Why the hell do things like this continue happening to them???
I'm really hoping that was a sarcastic remark.

But getting back to being a realist: I hope the statists and collectivists don't leverage this event into an emotional appeal to pass government healthcare.

$10 says some bureaucratic flunky will raise Kennedy's "legacy" and "lifelong ambition" as an impetus to drive the healthcare bill thru Congress.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0809/Byrd_Rename_health_care_bill_for_Kennedy.htmlreally a joke.

Damn. Truly sad.

I remember it just like yesterday when Ted Kennedy was here in Los Angeles in Feb 08 campaigning for Obama who at that time was a long shot. I was there atEast LA Community College and was just in awe at this historic figure. Dude had such a vibe because he felt real comfortable among us regular folks.

RIP Senator Ted Kennedy

sorry, no sympathy for a guy who literally got away with murder because his last name is Kennedy. Something tells me NT has no idea what kind of person TedKennedy was.

Good legislator, horrible human being.

Its hard for me to have sympathy who let a woman drown in a car. When they found her there were scratches all over the roof of the car from her trying to getout. He could have saved her but instead let her die. There was him cheating at Harvard and getting caught doing so as well as him dodging the draft. There wasall the extramarital affairs, the incident of the vacation photo's, the rape accusation, the time he nailed some chick on the floor of a restaurant in DC.

The majority of people on this site are very outspoken about those who live privileged lives out of doing nothing other then being born. Teddy went above andbeyond this and passed on his disgusting habits to an even more disgusting human being in Patrick Kennedy.

wait wait wait not according to this fool . the guy who felta tingle going up his leg when president obama was annointed. man seriously these liberal nut jobs crack me up.

didnt realize there were 7 pages of dudes on NT who cared about Ted Kennedy, whatever

RIP though, if he were on the floor the Health Care issue would be a lot easier to handle. The US senate lost a liberal stallworth who truly fought for themiddle to lower class. All personal things aside, he'll be missed.

This past week has been a history lesson for me because I never really did understand the infatuation with this family as a little kid, but watching thefuneral today, seeing all the past presidents, Obama, Jack Nicholson, Bill Russell all of which whom were at a church maybe 10 minutes away from my house, andhearing about how he had 66 pages worth of legislation that he was a part of, the man did a lot for my state and the country. Rest in Peace.
