Congrats on this achievement. Very moving.
It's great to see how appreciative these kids are with their books, something that we normally take for granted.
Thank you Meth. This is very nice to see!
NT is the best community online. Bar none. Amazing work.
Can't wait to contribute my time to these contributions that define a deeper meaning of NT. Great work as always.
We'll probably do two more by the end of the year.
Every year since we changed platforms, we've been able to sponsor a project of this size. Given the ambitious scope of publishing an original children's book, building a freestanding preschool, or establishing a new school library, such projects take over a year before completion reports, such as the one referenced in the topic post of this thread, become available. Adding a new project to the pipeline allows us to have a new project to support AND announce every year.
In recent years, rather than create a thread just to announce the latest donation amount, we've waiting until the projects had reached the launch state so that we had something to show that really tells the story of what Room to Read and each local community has accomplished. So, the next time you hear about a Room to Read project we've sponsored, for example, it will likely be when the project we sponsored in 2015 has launched.
In addition to sponsoring another education/literacy project of this size, we should have the opportunity to make one other, smaller donation - likely related to a particularly timely cause. As we need to maintain some flexibility in the event that funds are urgently needed for disaster relief efforts and the like, I can't confirm specifics on that until the contribution is made.
While, regrettably, this news is equally vague: I can confirm that another NikeTalk Live event is in the works for 2017 and we're looking to expand the charity fundraising component of that event even further.
As always, we welcome any suggestions our fellow community members may have. These contributions are a total team effort. We wouldn't have this opportunity if not for everyone who views the ads without blocking them, everyone who clicks on the ads, everyone who supports the sponsors (along with the sponsor themselves), and everyone who helps us attract and retain the participation of new community members.
Thank you all for allowing us to support the amazing and urgent work of organizations like Room to Read!
