I'd definitely have All Eyez on Me in the top 3.

It's a much newer album but I'd give a nod to Kurupt "Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha" for sure too. Album is ridiculous front to back.

I agree that NWA was incredibly infuential in the shaping of hip hop culture, but if we're gonna go for the single top spot, I gotta go with Public Enemy.

You won't find many bigger PE fans than me. But if we're talking about influence on Hip Hop/Rap, and what it became, regardless of it being positive or negative, it really is NWA. 
PE has what I'd call the greatest album of all time. 

My official disclaimer is that lists are nonsense, but with what you've put up, some thoughts.....N4L and SOC could have been #1 + 2. On some real @!**, they are.

That is one of the VERY few west coast albums I bumped throughout the 90s...

It's an AMAZING peice of work, it belongs on here...

I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to west coast hip hop...

As I got older I started to go back and check for more @#!+, but with the exceptional of the great west coast albums that bumped on the east coast, I didn't (and for the most part still don't) $+@* with the west like that... (outside of the backpacker @#!+ from my high school years)

I *** with Rappin 4 Tay tho... He was always dope to me
