Its been almost 20 years and I have yet to hear a west coast album that is THIS great...

Easily one of the 10 Greatest Hip Hop Albums of all time...

And IMO this is Dr Dre's BEST work overall...

This #%!! is just WAAAAAAAY before its time sonically...

This birthed the Chronic (obviously), but you can hear the difference in Dre's flow after Cube left NWA and DOC was writing the majority of his rhymes... Cube is my man and all but Dre improved as a "rapper" after he left...

"Dayz Of Way Back" is the prelude to The Chronic's "Little Ghetto Boy", and to this day its production is as AMAZING as ANYthing that has been made since then...

NWA was the MOST influential rap group... They changed the face and sound of hip hop FOREVER... You can hear their influence from 2Pac to Notorious BIG from Wu Tang Clan to Mobb Deep...

"Apitite For Destruction" is like the BEST song EVER...
Whoever thinks that what I say and portray is negativity
Need to come kick it in the city with me

That's all...

I agree that NWA was incredibly infuential in the shaping of hip hop culture, but if we're gonna go for the single top spot, I gotta go with Public Enemy.

Anyways,

While all 3 albums are exceptional...

I don't think they could be put in the same class as *****z4Life... (DOC being the exception cause he wrote the majority of *****z4Life)

The album as a whole meant much more to hip hop and the west coast...

I commend the album but IMO Doggystyle is the greatest west coast album of all time.

Now in terms of it's impactthat's notdebatableat allcuz *****z4Life brought the hood to the masses (ie. white folks)

i give to pharcyde. i love nwa work but it sounds really outdated to me. pharcyde album i can listen to whenever

Co-sign General Johnson. Then i'd probably put Doggystyle after that. I'm not even sure if i'd consider N4L NWA's best album. Let alone the best album to come out of the West.

Eazy Duz It
The Chronic
Doggystyle
Straight Outta Compton
All Eyez On Me
2001
i'd even include Amerikkkas Most Wanted and D.O.C.'s album

all better than

Dre- The Chronic = Cube- Amerikkka's Most Wanted

Followed by...

> Snoop- DoggyStyle  > Ice-T Home Invasion  > NWA - Straight Outta Compton

Do yourself a favor...

Actually LISTEN to *****z4Life... Straight Outta Compton and tell me which is better...

LISTEN to *****z4Life then The Chronic & Doggystyle...

I know its the "go-to" answer to list The Chronic as the greatest from the west, but I'm sure anyone who's actually sat down and listened to these albums objectively over the past 10-15 years wouldn't say such a thing...

Solid list,  but I would've probably replaced Ice T and Spice 1 with....

And personally I'd take "S.O.C." over "N.4.L"

I'm pretty disturbed u got Amerkkkia's most wanted and no one does it better so low...

Me Against the World should be somewhere on that...

and I would probably put Death Certificate as number 1...

I don't consider Me Against The World "West Coast hip hop"...

He wasn't screaming "west side" and trying to over compensate for his west coast alligience on that joint...

Never considered it...
