I don't think Pierce stays in DC. I think he'd rather go finish his career home and with Doc than staying with DC. That team had too many problems this season.

A few guys that could work in a trade for Jamal Crawford: J.J. Hickson, Ian Mahinmi, Kris Humphries/Garrett Temple.

Why would Pierce leave Washington though? They have just as much a chance to make to the Finals as the Clippers and he's already there.

I understand the whole Doc/LA angle but he would have to to take the minimum when he wouldn't in DC and dude love Wall/Beal.
Could be as simple as playing back at home to end his career. He could get the MLE btw

Doc being the coach only helps

Clippers definitely need a bench big. Humphries would be a nice fit

I like Hickson better than Humphries. I also read an article saying Brandon Bass woudl be a realistic FA target. I think he'd fit well also.

You cant have Kris Humphries in LA man, every other week would be some Kardashian related drama that would distract him. Watch what happens when they show up to a game, it'll become a sideshow.

I just wonder if the Paul Pierce thing is one year too late for the Clippers.

I truly appreciated the hell out of watching Paul Pierce this year. C's fans were lucky to have him in his prime. I think he's got enough gas in the tank for possibly 3 more seasons. Although, I would love to have him back in DC for next year, I do understand why he wants to go back to the West Coast.

He brought so much to the table in the playoffs and he was definitely a guy that Wall/Beal could look up to in certain situations.

He was only in DC for a year, but he's one of my favorite Wizards all-time. Dude is a gamer.

Based on his playoff performance this season, I think Pierce has more left in the tank, so it might not be too late in that sense. On the other hand, if we had him this season, everything else being equal, I think we would have got to the WCF. So, as far as that goes, it is too late.

No guarantees for anyone in the West next season if GSW keeps everyone together, OKC gets everyone back healthy, Spurs maybe sign a big FA like LMA or Love.

Asked about positionality, new Nuggets coach Mike Malone laughed and shouted “positionless NBA, right, Pete?” to Pete D'Allessandro

ASTERISK Pete man. Asterisk him real hard

Stil doesn't help them compete against GSW, OKC or Spurs if they add LMA.

It could, but it depends on what other roster moves the Clips make and whether we see even further improvement from Blake and DJ (assuming he gets re-signed).

Draymond isn't leaving, GSW has already said they'll match any offer and I think a healthy OKC is far more talented than the Clippers even with Pierce, he's not that much of a factor against a young super athletic team with a defensive coach.

Sources: Jimmy Butler plans to pursue shorter-term offer sheets

Chicago Bulls restricted free-agent guard Jimmy Butler has plans to pursue shorter-term offer sheets this summer, resisting the Bulls’ initial plans to offer him a five-year, maximum contract extension, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

As the NBA’s salary cap is set to dramatically rise beginning with the 2016-17 season, Butler has become far less interested in locking himself into the five-year, $90 million-plus deal the Bulls are expected to present him on July 1, league sources said.

For Chicago, there’s no challenge to retaining Butler. As a restricted free agent, the Bulls have matching rights on any offer sheet. Nevertheless, Chicago could be faced with Butler’s agents at Relativity Media, Happy Walters and Steve McCaskill, loading up a short-term offer sheet that includes a trade kicker and the potential loss of Butler to unrestricted free agency in 2017.
As Butler spends time in Los Angeles this summer, a stretch that’s included an overseas “Entourage” promotional jaunt with producer Mark Wahlberg, Butler’s intrigue with signing a potential Los Angeles Lakers offer sheet has increased, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Butler has preliminary plans to pursue meetings with several teams once free agency starts in July, sources said. Several teams pursuing Butler told Yahoo Sports that they’re under the impression a short-term, max money offer sheet is the wisest way to approach Butler this summer.

Unless Bulls officials bring Butler a shorter-term deal that’s more favorable to his long-term earning power, they’ll likely be waiting to match an offer sheet, league sources said.

Butler could sign a three-year offer sheet that guarantees him $50 million, but allows for a player option on the third year that could allow him to move into unrestricted free agency and re-sign for a five-year, maximum deal worth as much as $190 million. It is understandable why Chicago wants Butler locked into a five-year, $90 million max extension under the current salary structure, but that appears to be a deal Butler plans to pass on.

Chicago has to sell Butler on a post-Tom Thibodeau era under Fred Hoiberg to get him fully comfortable with the franchise’s direction. What’s more, there’s an increasing belief surrounding Butler and point guard Derrick Rose that they need to come to a greater understanding about how to best co-exist on the floor.

The Bulls understand that Butler had the staying power to turn down a four-year, $44 million extension (four-year, $48 million would’ve gotten the Bulls a deal, sources said) during an exclusive negotiating window in October, and they’ll have to wonder too: If there’s a player with the conviction to risk playing out the 2015-16 season for his $4.4 million qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent in 2016, it could be Butler. Nevertheless, that’ll be considered a long shot in the process.

At 25 years old, Butler had his best NBA season, earning a spot on the Eastern Conference All-Star team. An elite two-way player, Butler averaged 20 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. His career averages are 11.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and two assists. He was the 30th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. He was voted the NBA’s Most Improved Player this season.

If Jimmy Butler plans to pursue shorter offer sheets, as @WojYahooNBA reports, Bulls must make maximum qualifying offer to him.

A maximum qualifying offer would force other teams to guarantee at least 3 years of their offer sheets, rather than 2 plus a player option.

no way that jimmy butler contract doesn't lead to a lockout. 40 million a year for a guy? lol wut.
The owners' pockets will be getting just as fat.

Edit:

Game changer: League Pass to offer individual game and team passes starting next season.
