I was wrong about: Al Horford, DeAndre Jordan, Reggie Bullock (didn’t think he should leave early), Steve Blake, Tyrese Rice, MKG, LaMarcus Aldridge

I was right about: Kemba Walker, Jahlil Okafor, Danny Green, Sheldon Williams, Devin Booker, Jaylen Brown, Frank Kaminsky

Thought Brice Johnson would be a great role player.

I think it's a byproduct of the one-and-done era. The drafts are only as strong as the previous years' HS class (or the hype surrounding it rather). I lean more towards the draft prospects being unknown and unpublicized, moreso than the draft itself being weak. I've also read a few places that the international crop could potentially be one of the strongest in recent memory.

I have no stats to prove this but it feels like there's a strong sentiment that is draft is weak almost every year...and the results end up being a mixed-bag. The narratives can change so much throughout the year. Example...say a few of these freshman get off to a Trae Young/D'Angelo Russell-like start and the hype machine builds...we're having a different conversation about 2020. Neither of them were expected to be one-and-dones. It's even harder to build hype on an international prospect because most of them aren't playing alot for their club teams and don't have the luxury of the NCAA machine.

Pro Basketball Development is in a weird space. There's no one perfect "league" that elite prospects from all around the world can showcase in. The discussion around amateurism almost forces the NBA to open the gates back up and let the kids in again.

Speaking of global development, I’m surprised there hasn’t been a significant uptick in the African talent pool, with the NBA planting deeper roots there this decade.
