TRUTH!! I'm tired of all the "he's selfish," "that's ridiculous," "he should donate it," why, he earned it hecan spend it how he likes. From ground-breaking all through its life to demolition people will work and make a living off of this structure. When will people realize that self-interest is the key that drives a free market economy? He's helping not only himself, by creating his dream house, but he's creating probably over a thousand jobs, from the builders and architects working on the house to the 600 staff members who will have jobs for the rest of their lives running and maintaining the house.
Much more wealth is created from this sort of event than from him donating that money to charity. That $1 billion is going to a lot of different people.
