The Combat Jack Show Thread

They shot this at the Beyond The Streets Art exhibit in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I visited the exhibit weeks ago, I wish I attended when they shot this.

Damn, I was over here trying to figure out how I was going to steal someone's Revolt for an hour tonight. Glad they posted the whole thing and didn't just throw it on the channel tonight.

Nas interview any good or nore just say

“Give you flowers while you can still smell them , let’s toast to that”
50 times?

It wouldn't be Drink Champs without the hits

"I wanted to create a show to celebrate our legends cause I believe that we should give flowers while we could still smell 'em and trees so we could inhale 'em goddammit"

"This Eddie The *** Eater, we call him Eddie The *** Eater cause he eat ***"

"Make some noise goddammit!!! (Air Horn 100x)"

"Let's go Eye To Eye on Tigerbone"

NORE cutting off the guest every time they speak

EFN making some random comment nobody asked for or saying "I'm Cuban B", which was only funny in 1998 when Half Baked came out

I'm about a half hour in and NORE is so excited he's cutting Nas off in record fashion. NORE is so giddy that he finally got The Nas interview that he's sabotaging The Nas interview!

Just can't do it.

Want to hear from the legend, but nah... can't get thru Nore talking, man.

Low key, would've been cool to hear a Nas interview conducted by Tax. Remembering the Beans interview, homie just knew when to shut up and let him talk.

Dumb *****, man. :{

Nore was definitely tripping all over himself like he couldn't believe Nas was in the room.

NORE doesn't have a radio or TV background and he doesn't listen to what the fans are saying. He's got the personality, he has a lot of behind the scenes info but right when the guest is about to drop a jewel, NORE cuts in, asks another question, derails the train of thought. Certain guests know how to overpower NORE like DJ Premier, Trick Daddy and even Steve Stoute. Nas is a quiet dude tho, he's easy to interrupt.

If you haven't heard of it, check out the Gangster Chronicles podcast. It has Reggie Wright Jr and Mob James talking about street **** in hip hop and crime in general. Dope so far

The Nas joint isn't bad.

but when Nore asked Nas what was he listening to, and EFN cut him off to mention Dreamville and Reason  Nobody cares what you listen too.

They had one in Miami too

God he adds nothing.

Tribe was positive for their era. The idea of positivity and tolerance has changed over time and has become more nuanced. But for their era, most of those Natives Tongues artists were positive.

I think they seemed positive, but were just ordinary dudes like De La.

They weren't what the west was doing.

All of Native Tongues were just ordinary young high school/college kids. De La, JB's, Black Sheep...

I can see how people weren't in to them in the 90's. De La weren't my speed when I was young.

I wasn't in to Tribe's first album. I didn't listen to it until after Low End. I remembered seeing I Left My Wallet and being turned off by it because they were dressed like weirdos. I'll always mention Phife is the reason I became a Tribe fan. He was the one who dressed like me and talked about sports and girls and ****.

Choke made sense with this and kind of true. I thought the interview was cool for what it was. I expected worse.

I just know if Bleek interviewed Jay he wouldn't act like Nore did. Hip Hop honors.

Choke mentioned not bringing up Jay, Cormega, Nature, 50 and AZ.

Nore did try to throw out rappers mentioning being blackballed, but EFN ruined it. :smh: Nore threw it out slyly, and EFN seemed too dumb to catch it and cut it off and gave Nas a chance to answer it PC.

Phife was hard on dem h0ez  :pimp:

Puts this on some grimey or g-funk beat and he woulda been called another rapper "that hates women".

I always thought Q-tip was a cool dude too. Might be weird but not a goofy square either and he got one of most distinctive voices.

They have some interesting music discussions

Mal was wilding today talking about albums should come out without singles. Some artist can do that.

The way music is received if you don't have the right momentum coming out, people will overlook it.
