Right. The whole industry of finding plant-based alternatives to animal products is not being driven by militant vegans. There's not enough of them to justify companies putting billions of dollars into this area and the vegans aren't even the people who mainly consume the stuff. It's much more about people who can't/don't want to consume certain animal products for certain health reasons. Goes beyond just the millions of people who are lactose intolerant.

To give another example, my little brother donated one of his kidneys to my wife. His nephroligist recently recommended to him for the long-term health of his remaining kidney, that he cut his meat consumption down to close to zero. So he's worked some plant-based alternative items into his diet in addition to just straight vegetables.

It's a misconception that its the "meat is murder" crowd who is primarily behind the growth in plant-based protein products.
