Play style, habits, and situations affect ankle injuries more than shoes ever will.

If a guy slides under you while in the air it's a done deal regardless what name is on the side of your shoe.
 
Saw a couple colorways at Ross of the MB02s for like $50, almost copped a pair but I honestly don't need more basketball shoes, good price though.

Think they should make LaMelo’s kicks with a wider base or more aggressive outrigger. That may help him out some. These look like they’re a little wider in the forefoot.
