The Official NBA Season Thread: Battle for #1 in the West and East

Luka jacking up 3’s. 2/10

Fatigue. Warriors def tired him out too. Had him chasing buddy hield around to keep him honest. Steph put him in P&R too

Special player right here. Outside of the talent, it’s apparent he’s the most entertaining player in the league. Organically. Confident he can keep playing at a high level as he ages, and contribute to winning. Hes not done yet :smokin

Lot of folks on NT are lucky the search function is cooked. Two months ago it was a lot of “warriors are lucky if they make the play in”

It’s a long season but health willing this is a top 3 squad coming out the west

Warriors defense will wear most teams down throughout the course of games. They're extremely well conditioned, they run a ton and the biggest part is they make you have to guard also. That is exhausting to most team so far once they lock in. Which is why Cavs were so good. They ran a ton and kept the ball moving the same way the warriors do so they couldn't settle into their sets. It was smart.

Other teams haven't been so lucky/smart though.

Dubs were able to throw so many defenders at Luka. Wiggins, JK, Dray, i know that **** has got to be exhausting. Even when they tried to switch Steph onto him late game, he lost the ball. I think wavycrocket wavycrocket said it at half, luka was going to fatigue down the stretch.

Shoutout to de’anthony melton. Kyrie was cookin him at the basket and making tough shots over him, but he started clamping down late game. Difference maker this game

The stats really didn't tell the story but this was not a good Kyrie game to me. Whenever he was out there with Luka he was just floating around.

Also, I feel like the Mavs need to make a choice between Gafford and Lively. Two guys doing the same thing just splitting time.

That’s exactly why they lost in the Finals too. Tire Luka out on defense which then exhausts him on offense. He’s going to have to improve his conditioning if they ever want to win the championship.

'You miss it here??' :lol

Yea tonight was super personal

You make it sound like a negative thing. They are super close. Steph flew to Pullman for Klay's jersey retirement ceremony.

I think it was as personal as two competitive brothers who wanted to one up each other. Klay hitting the shimmy, steph screaming “this my ****” into the camera

Elite gamesmanship from two dudes who respect each other

Boston was missing JB and OKC was missing Chet for like 90% of the game. But I'll allow this to change the top of the No Excuse Power Rankings
Boston just lost to a hawks team with no trae or bojan and they had JB, Tatum and white all active. They middy.

This defense is looking GOOD.

Read a stat that the Warriors have 10 players logging 16+ minutes. Kerr is just spreading everything out, finding his rotations, and giving guys rest early on. Meanwhile, Thibs is, like, "The '90s are alive in New York!"

Shaq still the most insecure NBA star of all time. Dwight lives in his head, rent free, for some reason. Also, Kenny not getting Oscar on that question, and then not getting Mitch on the follow-up. I'll give Chuck a pass on Hal Greer for the Sixers, as Dr. J didn't play long enough on the team to make me guess him.
