The Official NBA Season Thread: Happy New Years

I went to the Usher concert. It was cool for all us old people who know his stuff.

Mike Brown gotta lead the league in getting jobs, getting fired, and getting hired to new jobs whilst still getting checks from the old ones. Wasn;t he at one point getting 3 W2s? He got a raw deal but at the same time getting paid to go home isn't that bad, probably better than doing the job tbh
mike brown is the john wall of glen rivers

Generally, it's the right play.

But also think context is needed. Every team may not want to get into the free throw game. Especially in a situation where there's enough time left where you have to make six free throws to close it out.

Green deserves a lot of blame. Far too inconsistent.

Fred shouldn’t be absolved though. Definitely disagree with the “he’s done his job” point. He’s making $40M a year. 20th highest paid player in league. Shoots like he’s blind. Doesn’t put any pressure on defense. His minutes should be going elsewhere.

FVV needs to compliment a better player than green and green needs to be a better player.

But again, they set some unrealistic expectations at the beginning of the season anyways.

My whole issue in the first place bringing on FVV and Brooks was that the team wasn’t ready for what those guys would be useful for. We already knew there were inconsistencies there with Green.

Just be young and figuring it out for a couple years. Now they are in this weird “fake good” stage and some of the young guys aren’t getting the chance to develop that they should be getting.

You don't think they've had enough time to develop, specifically Green/Bari/Sengun? The jury is still out on the others honestly.

They should trade FVV, but I don’t know if his current contract is moveable under the operating cap rules.

I’d love to have him as a back-up PG on the Clippers, but not for $40M. Can’t think of another team where he would fit in well that would go after him at that salary number:

maybe cheaper adults. They got too many overpaid ets who also aren't really all that good and young players still on rookie scale or 1st exension. They should have leaned into tanking. You can get a Juwan Howard type for the minimum or add to your bench in a suit
