The Official NBA Thread: Mavs v Celtics in the NBA Finals | elpablo21 is Taking Receipts

I don't want context. I want to be able to use zero context like everyone else does. Why am I being singled out for doing what's done every day in this thread

You're being singled out because you're going at a player "THEY" believe should not be criticized. You're not allowed to hold every superstar to the same standards in here.

I'm sure you gave Harden and Tatum the same grace when they were doing other things to help the team while having a bad shooting night

*Birdman handrub*

Oh you mean those games when Harden do absolutely nothing looking like he wanted to go home? Or when he broke the turnover record with 13?

With a limited bench and Jamal Murray being a tier below other star lead guards in the conference, you have to wonder if paying 9 figures for a specialist is optimal from a roster perspective.

They obviously had to re-sign him at the time but perhaps now he should be on the move.

Historically Murray was able to punch well above his weight in the playoffs. In this series he looked closer to what resume suggests he is - no all star, no all-nba.

Assuming that happens again, Malone needs to get a little more creative with Murray like I talked before, or they need another shot creator.

Takes from Semis:
NYK- Like them better without Randle . If they had OG, I think they would have taken the series. Randle, Mitch Rob, Bogdanovich, health(ier) Hart, Hartenstein, Brunson would have helped as well. Like this team, they're one piece away. Hartenstein about to be unrestricted free agent.
OKC-They should have got Gafford. They have a million picks and can't even roster all those picks. Even slotting in Gafford to replace backup C, Jaylin Williams would've been helpful. They lost the rebound battle badly. Hayward wasn't it. Shai is an overrated defender. SGA has been in talks from the media for all-NBA defensive team cause of his high steal rate. He was hidden on PJ Washington JR. for majority of the series, and PJ had himself a series. SGA is a good defender, he's not a top 10 defender.
Denver- MAGA Porter Jr. crapped the bed. He's their 3rd max contract player, averaged 10.7pts on 37% FG vs Minny, max salary until 2026-2027.
Minny- This was KATs series. He was primary defender on Jokic majority of the time and did a great job. There was a small contingent wanting more NAZ REID here, we got it, and he flourished. Played 9/12 minutes of 4th quarter G7

4th quarter, big plays down the stretch in crunch time.

Eh MPJ aint the Nuggets problem. Its their bench. Upgrade the bench with a bonafide bucket getter and a good backup for Jokic (rim runner/defender) and theyll be alright. Losing Brown and Green were tough. You could legit swap KCP with Brown as a starter and they woudnt miss a beat. Cant do the same with Braun as much as hes improved, he just isnt there yet. Unc was also a really good rotation player, can hit timely 3's and hes lengthy so can disrupt passing lanes, rebound etc better than Watson who essentially took that role.

You can flip that bottom 10 3PFGA rotation and say only 2 of those teams made it to the second round while 4 didn’t make the playoffs at all. The 3 ball isn’t going anywhere.

We are in the middle of a demographics shift more than anything else.
Is that what you read from what I said?

That teams shouldn't shoot 3s anymore?

I'm only saying that roster spots 3-12 may start looking different moving fwd.

Either way, just my opinion.

8 rebs and 7ast with 2 stls, only 1 turnover. Gotta help in other ways if you struggling. Denver's whole defense was to double him. Kobe like game 7 vs Boston.

People can clown Edwards first half rightfully so but to ignore the elite second half he had on both ends would be willfully ignorant

So I guess murray had a better game then if we just going off shooting numbers lol
