Just finished GoW

Feeling a bit like I did after HZD where I expected it to be a complete story and not a “Part 1”. I’ll eventually get over not running up on Thor and murking Odin in Asgard. Just thought all those Odin/Thor stories were teasers that built for ultimate showdowns in this. And that Baldur was a bit suspect as the main villain. Thought too many main story battles toward the end were too easy to finish with just the 4 runic attacks. Considering an NG+ for just the main story now that I don’t have to search for loot at every corner or do side quests. I started calling the game ADD simulator because there’s a distraction at every turn . But I did like the meaningfulness of the real estate in the game. And that it wasn’t a big map just for the sake of being big.

Story was solid. Was an about the journey not the destination experience though. Because too much of it was trying to get to that realm and then dealing with a setback. The father/son dynamic brought unique plot elements to the genre. Cutscenes were brilliantly done and integrated into the game. Loved the seemingly endless stream of dialogue between Mimir and Atraeus. The part where Kratos goes back to get the blades was by far my favorite sequence. Being solo and digging up his past to summon the fire and rage. Felt like an interactive cinematic experience.

I don’t see how it is overrated.

It is just a lot of Work

And the PS4 Pro updates :wow:. Some of the best support I’ve seen.

Like the compact design but the seating position is SUV/truck-like which ain't too bad and might lend for better overall ergenomics.

Interesting to see the reviewer with a PS4 & Dreamcast but no other classic hardware.

Two weeks ago I decided I wanted to started getting through backlogged games; specifically ones I started but stopped for some reason. I was trying to figure out a way to tackle them when I stumbled across the Trophy Advisor on PSNProfiles.

Basically it tells you the most common trophies you have yet to acquire in games you have played. I sorted it out to PS4 only, and have been tackling games that have a good chunk of trophies high on the list.

Its been great; doing this method I jumped back into Batman Arkham Knight and forgot how fun it was. And the added push to get some of the easier trophies has propelled me to jump into a couple of other games I had forgotten.

I use PSNProfiles but never checked out the trophy advisor before. I’m gonna have to put it to use. I realized I impulse bought way too many games this gen.
