Federer beginning to pick up the pace... It's incredible how wide his shot selection is. Allows him to conserve his energy while getting the winner...
That's one of the benefits of having a 1-handed backhand when he's pulled wide. But at the same time, run into guys that can attack his backhand side (like what Rafa's been doing for years), he'll only be able to counter those high-balls with a defensive slice. Pros and cons.
If they both advance tonight, Raonic vs Federer is going to be a hell of a match Sunday Del Po losing was SHOCKING. Seppi vs Chardy to go to the Final 8. Crazy. Chardy finally turn the corner? I was working so couldn't watch. Shocked he won that 5th set though...really shocked
Btw. Murray can sleepwalk into the Semi's ...unless...unlesssss Monfils can somehow win tonight Which speaking of Monfils. God bless any of you that try watching that Simon/Monfils match. Two French pansies duking it out ...hope Gael wins, theres nobody I dislike more on tour than Gilles Wow Raonic just broke Kohly again. He made straight minced meat out of Kohly!
That'd be pretty dangerous for him. He looked very shaky... too many uncharacteristic errors and lost his concentration at times. It'd be better for him if he got a tough match to keep him on his toes.
Murray can go home before the championship even starts in my opinion lol I can't stand that arrogant dude.
LOL, Murray never came off as arrogant to me... I quite like how his game's improved over the years. He can still be a bit more aggressive, but he's much better than the "pusher" we've seen in the past. Lendl's done a lot better with his mental-game too. Still... lots of room for improvement cuz he'll still have a tendency to implode when he gets down.
This kid Tomic (20 years old) has really impressed me today. He's holding his own against Fed.... That last game was great play by him.
Where does people in here rank Fed among indv. sport athletes in history? I was thinking early its arguable he has been the most dominate player ever. I'm a Rafa fan so i aint even being biased haha
One of the greatest individual sportsman ever. (and I'm a Djokovic fan) I'd have to think about where he ranks, but he's well up there. Btw, as much as I knew Fed was going to show his experience in that last tie-break. Tomic really gave him something to think about. Classy player. If he keep this up, we might see this kid holding some silverware a few seasons from now.
Fed is the king of trolling his oppenents. He always has matches like this, where he lets the underdog hang around..give the crowd some faith that an upset could be coming ane BOOM..he goes on tear and walks away with a easier than it looked victory. I love this dude haha
Tomic has the skills/tools/talent, no doubt, but his attitude has been From the 'hooning' incidents to his issues with the Aussie tennis fed... not to mention all his trash-talking as of late. Fed... statistically, certainly the greatest. We need to compile a list of great individual sportsman. Off the top of my head, Tiger of course, but how many other individual sports are there with such high-profile athletes? I know I'm probably missing some obvious ones, but I can't think of any right now...
In no particular order. Steffi graf Tiger Jack Nicklaus Usain Bolt Martina Navratilova Muhammed Ali Federer Sampras Edwin Moses Jackie Joyner Kersey
Ah, I knew i forgot some obvious one! Lol Gotta throw Rod Laver in there as well. Too early to include Rafa, despite his domination on clay and record vs Fed? That was until Nole came along in 2011.
my God I can not stand Gael any more. SHEEEEEEEEEEEEESH Yall call Serena Drama queen? what is this guy?
