and so is the movie. the idea for the movie came from when writer/director tobe hooper saw chainsaws in a hardware store one day while shopping.

Psycho was actually based on ed gein. TCm was sort of a play on what ed gein did to his victims. with the furniture made from bones and the skin as a mask

Very loosely, seeing how what i read about Francois is that he never restrained any of the women, he never taped himself killing or harming any of his victims,he knew all the victims. The only thing in common is that it is in poughkeepsie. lol based on true events my !@%
