the thread about nothing...

by the way - they had to "go through" many foxes as one can imagine

i won't go into the specifics of the process too much - but they did set up a fur coat company to make use of the abundance of pelts

basically they had to breed selected ones and destroy all others...and the selected ones are rare at first...yall get it...
but the foxes changed physically as well as mentally - like their ears got less pointy or flopped over like you see in a lot of dog breeds...as the generations progressed into domestication

i read a report on how some germans successfully domesticated foxes in 10 generations (for the most part & they chose foxes cause they are easy)

and they fully explained the domestication process
those wild instincts aren't really bred out of the genetic code - they just can never reach the full mental development to switch them on
thats how domestication initially works in practice, this also accounts for physical adaptation - why are pets are so cute

Does remind me of how a lot of the current breeds are almost mentally or physically ******ed because of the inbreeding that has happen over the generations to keep certain characteristics or body types. Like how pugs faces are getting flatter which is making it harder for them to breath

this cam be said for humans as well, but i understand where your coming from.

yes i understand

i was talking more literally tho but yes i thought about the metaphor - like - 'domesticating' humans - after a while - they would even
physically change

...or has that process, in a way, already started, well yes it has..stay woke nt...

so two things i take away:

the germans were able to manipulate the foxes much faster than most might expect (10 generations)

also - this is a commentary on domestication -
we humans pretty much created the pet dogs & cats, etc that we have around - we created them out of our natural environment
therefore it is our duty to care for them - we took on the responsibilty
this is why i have such a problem with animal abuse

Went and picked out a puppy last night. Week old. Can't wait to bring him home

Puppies Shouldn’t Leave Their Mother’s Before 6-8 Weeks Old, You Need To Take That Puppy Back Man, It’s Best For The Survival Of The Dog. I Had My First Litter Back In July & Didn’t Even Touch The Puppies Until They Were Up & Crawling

Edit* Just Peeped It Said “Picked Out” Not “Picked Up”

im sure dogs get emotionally attached to their pups like human does to a new born baby. they have feelings too.

ill get a pup when its time a ready for it to leave its mother. maybe once i get my apartment.

Without humans breeding certain traits, I'm positive the toy dogs wouldn't exist. No way those ****** lasting in the wild

Those things so cute though

I'd love to have a Frenchie, but the first year caring for a pup is a lot of work.

I remember my first year with my boxer. I hated him.

I was tempted in buying the Obsidian AM1's this morning. Good thing I didn't.

of course not... if they fall from a couch they might snap a twig leg... theyd be a nice snack for a bigger predator

That first yr is disgusting

I remember having to be fast when my puppy pooped because he had a tendency to eat his own **** :x

He grew out of that though
