i read a report on how some germans successfully domesticated foxes in 10 generations (for the most part & they chose foxes cause they are easy)
and they fully explained the domestication process
those wild instincts aren't really bred out of the genetic code - they just can never reach the full mental development to switch them on
thats how domestication initially works in practice, this also accounts for physical adaptation - why are pets are so cute
this cam be said for humans as well, but i understand where your coming from.
Went and picked out a puppy last night. Week old. Can't wait to bring him home

im sure dogs get emotionally attached to their pups like human does to a new born baby. they have feelings too.
ill get a pup when its time a ready for it to leave its mother. maybe once i get my apartment.

Without humans breeding certain traits, I'm positive the toy dogs wouldn't exist. No way those ****** lasting in the wildso two things i take away:
the germans were able to manipulate the foxes much faster than most might expect (10 generations)
also - this is a commentary on domestication -
we humans pretty much created the pet dogs & cats, etc that we have around - we created them out of our natural environment
therefore it is our duty to care for them - we took on the responsibilty
this is why i have such a problem with animal abuse

of course not... if they fall from a couch they might snap a twig leg... theyd be a nice snack for a bigger predatorWithout humans breeding certain traits, I'm positive the toy dogs wouldn't exist. No way those ****** lasting in the wild
