The Timepiece Thread vol: READ THE 1st POST!!!

Anyone know the difference between the Seiko SKX007K and SKX007J? Is it simply where it was manufactured (Korea vs Japan)? Are there any other discernible differences between the 2? I ask because the J model seems to go for considerably more than the K model.

None what so ever IIRC. Go with the K (Malaysian) version and save some cash, even better get the rubber strap version as the standard jubilee bracelet is terrible. WJean sells a great aftermarket bracelet.

That's a canvas band watch and the numbers are too big for my taste. Thanks though.

Remember watches with standard lugs like the canvas strap Citizen can be replaced with a decent leather strap via spring bar tool. I will list some but they could be a bit over your budget. Don't go buy the Amazon price, they can be had for cheaper at places like Jomashop, Ashford, Creationwatches, skywatches.sg, discountwatchstore, eBay, and Google etc...

Met this British guy that came into my work today.. He was from Florida but heavy British accent. Anyways he's on his way out and I see a black and gold watch so I go "Hey, what kind of watch is that? :nerd:"

He says "Oh, it's a Patek Philippe."

I was like "Oh that's really nice man."

I go look them up.. Patek Philippe :Smokin

His watch that he was wearing sells for $63,000..

Probably forever out of my price range but NY LAWDDDDD it's like looking at pronz at work.

Just picked up the Daniel Wellington Classic York. Beautiful watch. Say what you will about the movement or whatever, but this watch is sick to me.

Not my pic, but here you go

of the day? :x

I went into a local rolex store in the mall.. first watch I liked was 11k.. one day man. :smh:

Nice watch though :smokin

Nope for the day. They also put me on the list for the GMT II black/blue. I won't see that till possibly the end of the year. I'm # 6 on the waiting list. This Daytona was a wedding gift for myself since I just got married 2 weeks ago. Also a Rolex will hold better value than the sneakers I buy.

Y4BBZY Y4BBZY , this thread has inspired me to go looking for myself and, naturally, that led me to researching the many aspects of watch making. Suffice it to say that I've just begun to scratch the surface of a rich culture and history. Most recently I discovered the Poincon de Geneve, and I have a couple questions regarding it:

1. Are watches that abide by the Geneva standard really more reliable than brands such as Grand Seiko or Junghan (assuming regular service, no salt water diving, etc?)

2. As someone who seems to know quite a bit about watches, is something like this really important to those who care about watches in general?

^that says too hip/diva. would not hire. unless ur in a creative industry

silver or a leather band that matches the fit, always
