I'm leaving on a business trip to Dallas for two weeks in early August. I'll be staying by the Galleria. I'll have a rental but not sure how available it would be to me (have to share it with a colleague).

I was hoping to be put on to some good eats, places to go sight seeing, night life, tourist stuff, etc.

Any suggestions and tips are welcome and appreciated!

Depends what you're trying to eat.

Tex-Mex
Bar b Q
Burger
International

Good thing for you all the good stuff is out where ur at

I personally prefer NorthPark over the Galleria.

Visit Uptown (Dallas) there are a bunch of upscale places in that area. You're bound to find one place that looks interesting.

You should check out the Perot Museum of Nature & Science if you're into that type of thing, it's nice and well worth the visit imo.

Get some tacos. There are plenty of good, authentic options.

XTC or Onyx. (Strip Clubs)

These things (Perot museum is bad***), the world aquarium is cool. Go to the new park downtown, food/drink trucks are always there. Hit up McKinney Ave for some food/drinks/scenery. Maybe go out to Arlington if you wanna see the Cowboys stadium and do the tour. Check out 6 flags if you haven't. Get a burger at Twisted Root
EFF 6 flags... shorty just died out there!

but all of these ideas are legit..

also... bishop arts district has a lot of that artsy stuff.

deep ellum is like... a lower end uptown... you don't gotta get as saucy when it comes to the dress...

another place is shops of legacy on the north side...

Mexican/Latino scene over off harry Hines...

belt line road is like deep ellum of the north.... in my eyes ....

you right around from me... you trying to go get trippy and and try to get some yambs... holla at me.

:pimp:

thanks for all of the suggestions.

i'm from southern california and i'm gonna be working the majority of the weekday, probably 10-11 hours a day. but will definitely try to get out on the weekend.

are there any good food spots around that way (next to the galleria)? i'm down to try anything, texmex, bbq, etc. whatever texas is known for.

Fogo De Chao or Texas De Brazil or any of the other Brazillian steakhouses. Go to the House of Blues restaurants too if you think you have a strong pick up game. That place had ladies up in it for days when I went last time

Babe's Chicken.

Mooyah Burger.

Saturday night Concrete Cowboy in uptown

Sunday afternoon Sisu, then head to back to Concrete at night.

Just make sure you strap up.

pluckers, papadeaux & whataburger are musts :nerd:

ONYX on a Tuesday night was one of the best nights I had in that state in the 6 years I lived there.

Max's Wine Dive for chicken & waffles.
Wingfields for a Texas style burger.
Plenty of Mexican food options.
Uptown or Northpark mall mid-day Saturday to see the best Dallas has to offer.
If you go to a strip club don't get too comfortable.
Dallas broads ain't as dumb as they act.

If you want fried chicken OP..

Look up Rudy's Chicken if you're feeling adventurous

Or else just stick to Babe's.

Fuel City Tacos is good, it's at a gas station. (Fuel City)

There are better taco options IMO but when I bring out-of-towners here they love it.

There's a casino on the way here as well. Trinity riverfront complex on the way soon.

I have grown real fond of Velvet Taco :smokin

been on the breakfast tacos and the velvet cake.

i didn't realize velvet cake was made with coffee. straight to the throne status

:wow: they do breakfast tacos?!? I go in for that number 2 and 10, and if im feeling the special, for lunch only.

Their velvet cake is the ish too.
