I would hold off until college is over with. In the meantime, save up at least 25-30% of your paycheck (if you're working) til' you graduate. Youshould be alright by then. If you're not working, I suggest you try to get a job (anywhere) where you will enjoy for short term.

Don't do it just so you can say you're driving an M3. If you can afford the payments, higher insurance rates, and high service costs, then you should consider it.
BMW's have high maintenance costs, and the M's have even higher costs.
Your insurance will probably go up because it's a "sporty car" and it's a luxury car.

My take on getting luxury cars is that you should only get them if you can afford the payments for a brand new one. I wouldn't buy a benz or BMW with 50,000 miles on it, why not just get a brand new accord or something in that price range. If I were you, I'd look into the new car options that are in that price range; Civic, Accord, Fit, Corolla, etc. Shoot, you can pick up american cars for cheap now. Chargers, magnums, and all those cars are on deep sales because the companies are almost broke.
Well said. I actually like the car i have right now alot. its all wheel drive and i never have any porbs with it. But i have always loved the M3wit the laguna seca blue, since the first time i seen it I new i wanted it, and the fact that they ddint make the E92's in that color is pretty depressing.I dont want to NOT by this car and then regret it

Or you could just cop an e46, 325ci or 330ci , fairly high mileage of course for around 10gs and make a commitment to invest in the maintenance. There'stons of diy guides.

    This makes no sense.

I can't speak for OP but some people are NOT affected by what's going on with today's economy.

[IMG] damn brah. everybody else is gettin on that frugal ishh cuz of theeconomy and you thinkin bout coppin a 24k whip and it dont seem like there's a reason other than you wanting it. but in general cars depreciated, and with24k, unless you're dropping straight cash, creditors have your nuts in a vice grip. just doesnt seem worth putting yourself under the hold of paympents onan investment you arent getting a feasible return on. unless you think women and status are viable returns. but do you at the end of the day. personally, idont even think what type of whip you have matters until you get what you really want. and for me that'd besomething in the 100k range
