Ties and Dress Shirts?

when wearing a tie do you wear it with a shirt with a chest pocket or without?

I assume it is okay for either, but what is the fashionable correct answer?

interesting question I don't think it matters, but for fashion Ithink its about the way the shirt is fitted.

There really isn't a "fashionably correct" answer but pockets on a shirt are usually more casual than those without.
I wear a tie with both but it really depends whether it is casual, formal, business, etc...

I don't think it matters. However, my shirts with a pocket are strictly for work and those without are for formal occasions.

normally i dont wear a shirt and tie without a jacket over it, but if i ever did, it wouldnt have a pocket, im not a school teacher.
