It's hard not to put any mixtapes on here cause there's been so many quality mixtapes out this year that could pass for legitimate solo albums. And i
don't think many people would disagree that there have been more quality mixtapes out than official albums this year.

Top 5 are in order, 6-10 are not:

1) Raekwon: Shaolin vs Wu-Tang (Came out in March, and nobody came close to touching it since)

2) Big KRIT: The Return of 4Eva (Probably the South's most complete new artist right now, with a nearly flawless album-quality tape to match)

3) Random Axe: Random Axe (Raw beats & raw rhymes, what more could you ask for?)

4) A$AP Rocky: LiveLoveA$AP (DL'd on a whim and glad I did. Refreshing production with a style that actually pays homage instead of biting)

5) 2Chainz: T.R.U.REALigion (very pleasant surprise, while at the same time I knew it would be good, if that makes any sense)

Damn, trying to think back, 2011 had some great stuff. Just got Common and Jeezy, so I can't rightfully add them on here.

6) Freddie Gibbs: Cold Day In Hell

7) Kendrick Lamar: Section.80

Game: RED Album

9) Killer Mike: Pl3dge

10) Trae: Street King

11) Fiend: Life Behind Limo Glass

Just bought the new Anthony Hamilton, Robin Thicke and Carl Thomas. Haven't really listened to them yet. I also haven't listened to Echoes of Silence yet.

Albums I bought and regret
Bad Meets Evil (Em and Royce)
Big Sean (Nothing like his mixtapes)
Mayer Hawthorne (only play track 1 and 3)
Watch the Throne (could fall asleep to half this CD)
Anthony Hamilton dropped an album?! Loved him, but haven't listened to him for a couple of years now.
