T-Mobile is tapping into the popularity of the HTC HD2 with the creation of a trade-in program which allows iPhone owners to turn in their hardware in exchange for a credit ranging from $100 to $350 to be used towards the newly released smartphone. Available only by phone, at non-corporate dealers and through the usual business channels, the only conditions are that the iPhone being traded in must be in full working condition. Not a bad deal at all considering anyone taking up the offer doesn’t even need to sign up for a service contract. Now if only T-Mobile was able to keep these things in stock until the promotion ends on May 19th.

This intrigues me...the 100 to 350 though, I wonder how they'll determine your model's worth, I've got a fully functional 3GS with no signs of wear/tear...

what's the catch? $350 is a good look, but i guarantee they'd only give you that much if you have a NDS 32gb 3GS

i would jump ship if i could get that much for my 2yr old 8gb 3G

.. then turn around and sell it for the new iPhone

you dont even have to leave att though. you are buying the phones out of contract. so you can buy them and unlock and use on tmo. expect to see alot of hd2s on craigslist/ebay

 word to my quick edit.

If I can use the HD2 on AT&T's 3G, I would probably jump ship.

AT&T's 3G network sucks because of the over saturated iPhone users...but TMo's network is just as bad as AT&T maybe worse.

Patiently waits for Iphone HD.

I have an HD2.....and if i had an iphone....i dont think i would trade it in for the HD2.

I would sell it on ebay before i did that.

i don't think it's worth it i bet one of their requirements is that the iphone is on 3.1.2 or lower firmware which is the only unlockable basebands at the moment and you can sell a 3gs that's on 3.1.2 for $500+ i personally rather have a iphone anyday

The company I work for does the same thing and offers just as much but you can trade in any phone.

would be cool if it was a straight up trade, not everyone is gonna get $350.
If youve got a 3gs 16gb in great condition I can do a straight trade for a new line.

How much does someone pay for a new 3gs 32gb? $350 sound about right?

i can sell a nds 32gb 3gs as long as it's on 3.1.2 firmware for $600+

Just a fair warning about the trade in--if this is anything like the promo TMO had where you could trade in your old Blackberry and get loot towards your new Berry, be prepared to wait forever to get your money. I think it took about 2.5 months for my check to come in the mail. Obviously you can do without that money but that long wait suuuuucks.
