High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens has filed a federal lawsuit against the owners of a celebrity and gossip web site that posted nude cell phone pictures of the actress, and refused to take them down.
Hudgens, 21, claims that the site posted the photos illegally. She is asking a judge for an injunction that would force the site to remove the pictures, according to TMZ.
She is also suing for unspecified damages.
The suit doesn't mention that the photos show Hudgens naked, but the pictures on the site clearly show the actress and singer in the buff.
"The photos were obtained by unknown methods and posted on the Internet by an unknown person without Hudgens' knowledge or consent," the law suit says.
The pictures, still online this morning, have since been taken down.
The Hudgens pictures appeared online in the summer of 2007, prompting the star to apologize to her fans, saying that she was "embarrassed over the situation." Four months ago, a new set of photos showing Hudgens topless appeared on the site.
Earlier this year, comedian Dane Cook quipped about the spread at the Teen Choice Awards.
"Girl, you got to keep your clothes on," Cook said, as the camera paned in on Hudgens. "Phones are for phone calls."
