I'm just wondering what you guys think on this matter. Cause I'm lost.
My parents didn't put any leashes on me I watched movies / played GTA when it came out. Maybe 5th or 6th grade.
Just trying to see other people's idea with various media and "protecting their kids"

My parents let my brothers play well my brother who was around 13 at the time and my younger brother watched he was 5 or so and I would not let my kids play until at least 16

Probably 16, and only if I thought my kid was mature enough. That game is wild... I love it though

I remember trying to play that GTA 1 demo on PC when I was like 12 years old...

My parents never put leashes on me either. My dad took me to all the R-rated movies and let me buy the M-rated video games. We had strong family values so, I turned out fine (I think). Just make sure ur kids are smart/mature enough to see these activities as just fictional entertainment and not a lifestyle...

lol i been playin the very first gta on ps1 since i was a youngin, my parents ddnt care about none of that %$+%

Middle school. If they're old enough to cuss and fight in real life, then they can do it on a game too.

i'd say around 12-14 if the kid is mature enough and the parent explains. depends on the kid. depends on the parent.

i never had any leash around me and grew up fine. i was 10 when my dad bought me wu tang forever lol. saw heat in theaters when i was 8 or 9...

My parents didn't know what the hell Mortal Combat is & other gore games that were deemed inappropriate. Unless you're super involved with the current time (2044) and your kids, I doubt when our time comes as parents we'll know what these kids are playing/doing.

But it all depends on the maturity and susceptibility of the kid

I really wouldn't want my kid playing those types of games to be honest, but I'd say 10th grade.

My little cousin just turned 11. Son had San Andreas on release date so that means he was 6. He's a wild kid but more than GTA contributed to that.

I didnt have any leashes either, NONE WHAT SO EVER, I was watching porn an all in the 4th grade.

My parents didnt have a clue about video games, the only thing that would stop me from getting 1 was the price.

But I was a smart kid.

The only people that would have a problem with this is "white Kids" not a race attack.

If you shutter your kids away from these sorts of things, they gonna do it anyway which is gonna corrupt them even more into breaking "laws"/Rules.

Actually we probably WILL be in tune to the video game culture. Once a gamer, always a gamer for the most part.

Our parents didn't really have video games to play, so that is why most of them don't care about them now.

Our generation is different.

i had just turned 13 when i played gta3 but i played gta2 waaay before that... i dont see why kids cant play it, its a video game.. they should know the difference between this and reality anyway.

13 or so....7th or 8th grade.

If they go to public school, they've heard it all on the school bus anyway.

whenever they are old enough to understand how to work game systems

Im not one of those types that believe video games, movies, music influences kids to do stupid @%%!

word my parents let me do whatever and besides being occasionally jaded id say im a decent earth citizen

i'd say around high school, maybe sophmore year, freshman yr is still borderline. my nephew who is 6, my aunt and uncle lets him play any game and watch any movie, so one day we were driving and we heard police sirens and little man tells me, "the cop's gonna die, the other guy's gonna win" and i asked him why he thinks that and he goes "that's what always happens to me when i play GTA, i kill the cops"..
