What Does Clicking Noise Mean on Desktop Computer

When I start up my HP Desktop computer it sometimes freezes or take a long time to start up.  During the start up process it makes a clicking noise coming from the computer.  What does this usually indicate?

Most likely the sound is coming from your harddrive. I'd recommend addressing this issue sooner than later as your computer's harddrive could just die one day and you'd lose all your files. How old is your comp? If it's still under warranty I would call HP, otherwise you should look into buying a new computer and transferring your files to the new machine via flash drive/ portable harddrive.
