What gives someone the "right" to hate a player?

I have some friends who know nothing about nba but they see lets say kobe on the screen and they go "ughhh, i hate that guy".

so what is a legitimate reason to hate a player?
ex.
if a player is the star on a rival team?
you don't like a certain player's style of play?
you simply don't like his/her attitude?

wat are your thoughts NT

btw this is NOT a "i hate kobe/lebron/etc. because..." thread

someone who gets shady superstar calls for them, or nothing called against them.


i'm a big believer in fair play.


even when i hoop, i never call fouls unless someone blatantly goes for body/arm and not ball.

What gives someone the right to hate anybody?

Some people just rub you the wrong way... It is what it is. I can't tell you exactly why I like and dislike certain people. I just do.
